Great ryokan-small hotel in a fabulous location away from the usual tourist bustle, only 5 min walk to subway. Surrounded by great shops and interesting streets, with very hospitable hosts. Great for solo travellers.

Nothing, it was really clean and convenient.

The location is great. The place is quiet and well-kept. There is a 7/11 right across the street and a lot of coffee shops and restaurants in proximity as well. There are two major subway stations down the street with Sendagi station getting you right into the heart of Tokyo in a few moments. The Keisei Skyliner stops right at Ueno-Nippori station which was very convenient. I also liked how I could walk 15 mins and be in the heart of Ueno with Nezu shrine closeby as well as Ueno park and all of the lovely museums. For the location and price, I would stay here again for sure! The neighborhood is very quiet and had a great mood/tone to it with calming music and great lighting in the streets.

The WiFi was a little spotty and the bathroom had a little bit of mold in it. I think a list of recommendations for coffee or dining upon checking in would be beneficial for foreigners given the overwhelming amount of stuff to do.

Great location, friendly staff, quiet room

Internet wasn’t very good but still worked somehow

An authentic Japanese experience, family run ryokan. Very nice helpful owners . Nice quiet area, restaurants and convenience shops close by.

Maybe if you’re older, floor mats are a little difficult although comfortable
