My husband and I stayed two weeks in this lovely cottage. It is in a quiet neighborhood, easy walk to two beaches and the very beautiful Scenic Drive which we used to walk to town one day. Our weather wasn't great but the cottage combined with the shops, restaurants and easy access to the highway meant we were not bored. Who needs golf every day anyway? The kitchen is well stocked as are the bathrooms. JD made it easy to check in and we had no problem with garbage or trash as the instructions were very precise. Looking forward to another stay!

Exactly as advertised, JD’s home was cozy, comfortable, very clean, very complete. Great location in Carmel, far enough away from the hustle of the village and Hiway 1 so that we had no outside disturbance. Close enough to the beach for strolls. We loved our stay!

Lovely, well-furnished, clean cottage in quiet Carmel Point neighborhood 2 minute walk to beautiful main Carmel beach. One of the nicest, most relaxing houses and neighborhoods we’ve rented in ten years of VRBO stays.
Owner very pleasant and prompt in communicating when booking, checking in, and during stay. Clear guidance/notes re: use of well-stocked kitchen etc.
Plenty of room for the two of us - 2 king bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, living room all well-furnished and spacious for cottage. And well-maintained outdoor patio areas.
Definitely hope to return here.

The property was a delight, well equipped and well maintained. It was also in a quiet neighborhood on the south side of Carmel, about three blocks from the beach. The only downside to the location was that it was about a mile from the main Carmel business area which has most of the shops and restaurants but very limited parking after about 9 am in the morning. The other difficulty was getting the check-in information in timely fashion and trying to communicate with the property manager directly. Perhaps I was doing something wrong, but every time I tried to send a message to the property manager through the Vrbo website a page came up requiring me to sign up for other services that I didn't want or need. This was very annoying.

Charming and comfortable. Lovely inside and out. Very walkable to Carmel's stunning beaches. Appreciated the original artwork throughout the house. King beds and pillows couldn't have been more comfortable and having two full baths made it easy for two couples to share the space. We felt very much at home at Hilltop House.

JD and Diane were great. Very nice cottage in Carmel-by-the-sea. Very close to beach and downtown. Everything you need for a great time.

Enjoyed the location and the property itself. The only negative is the strength of the Wi-Fi. It was mentioned in earlier comments and it was a bit of an issue. Only could use Wi-Fi in the back rooms.
Otherwise , absolutely perfect and a good price. Thank you to the hosts.

I cannot say enough good things - this charming home was wonderful for our visit to Carmel. Convenient to beach and shops and restaurants in Carmel. Quiet neighborhood and beautiful patio and courtyard to enjoy when we wanted to stay home. You will love this place!!

Everything you could ask for!
This is a great little place in walking distance from the center of town and 2 blocks from the beach. It is spotless, very well stocked and the owners were a pleasure to deal with .
We loved the back yard sitting area in the late afternoon.
stay here! you won't be disappointed! We appreciated the 2 king beds and 2 full baths. Kitchen was perfect for our breakfast and lunch prep .
So much to do in the area. - just bring a sweater and pants!!!

Delightful Retreat on Carmel Point
The cottage was exactly as described and perfectly equipped. We are seniors, so it was not close enough for us to walk to town, but the setting is quiet and just a short walk to the beach and Carmel Point. The furnishings were comfortable and we has plenty of room to relax. Be aware that the cable TV offers very limited choices and no streaming services. There is a ROKU box, but wi-fi signal strength near the front of the house is weak, and the box would not connect. We would recommend that the router be moved closer to the front of the house. My wife and I were very happy in this cottage and hope to have an opportunity to stay here again in the future. Thank you, to the owners and manager for allowing us share this beautiful home.

The cottage is located in a quiet and congenial neighborhood that's ideal for a morning or evening stroll. During our stay we found the property owners to be helpful and responsive to any concerns or problems. WiFi internet service is now provided at the cottage although the listing previously stated that it is not. Highly recommend this cottage for a couple or small family seeking a peaceful and pleasant sojourn in Carmel!

We sort of stumbled onto this VRBO on accident. We had been looking in the Monterey area. Carmel By The Sea (and especially Carmel Point) are exactly what we needed. Quiet, laid-back, and picturesque. It's close to downtown Carmel for food & shopping, and a short 15 minute drive to Monterey or Pacific Grove. The cottage is nicely equipped for adults or a family with older children. We found the beds comfortable. There are several places, in or out, to sit and read.
