The Blowing Rock Manor

The Manor was beautiful. The rooms were top-of-the-line. We loved that it was walkable to the downtown area. We had such beautiful weather and thoroughly enjoyed walking around.

I guess I am just old-fashioned, but I didn’t like the fact that there were no staff other than the cleaning people, at the hotel. While the lobby is beautiful and very comfortable, there was no one to answer any questions. In all honesty, we got quick answers when we called with any questions. But it just wasn’t the personal interaction that I like. Also, since we did not have a balcony or Terrace room, I would have liked to have an outdoor seating/common area to enjoy the weather just somewhere to sit and enjoy the nice fall weather with maybe a cup of coffee or a cocktail.

No breakfast. Could not get into our room. Lock not working. Had to change rooms. No fruit basket.

Breakfast was minimal.

These are such small things but there was no bedside table on my side of the bed, no outlet to plug in my phone on my side of the bed, the nearest outlet was under a mirror near the foot of the bed and neither receptical worked.

It was beautiful and clean and the one person working was nice. However, we paid $275 for one night and it seemed like way too much for what we got. There is no restaurant, so no breakfast. All staff left by 6 pm. It seemed rather desolate. Though it couldn’t have been cleaner and it seemed to be newly renovated. We had a junior suite with a sleeper sofa. However, the room it was in was so small that we had to move furniture to open it up completely.
