Wingate by Wyndham Bronx Haven Park

Die Lage war sehr nah (5Min. Gehzeit) an der Bahn- / U-Bahn Station "138 St-Grand Concourse" und damit direkt nach Manhattan, Grand Central Station. Also die Lage war sehr gut. Da ich nur ein Zimmer zum schlafen brauchte, war es soweit OK. Das Personal am FrontDesk war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sehr gut fand ich die reichliche Anzahl von Ladebuchsen im ganzen Zimmer. Das Bett war auch soweit OK mit guter Matratze.

Im Umfeld des Hotels sollte man etwas aufpassen, es treiben sich einige zwielichtige Gestalten herum. Das Frühstück war typisch amerikanisch und daher nicht besonders erwähnenswert. Aber als Start in den Tag war es für mich ausreichend.

Kleines, aber sehr funktional und gut ausgestattetes Zimmer. Sehr bequemes Bett. Das Hotel liegt nur 2 Gehminuten von der U-Bahnstation entfernt, von der wir in ca. 30 Minuten zu der Grand-Central Station in Midtown Manhattan fahren können. Der Grand Concourse und das Yankeestadion sind fußläufig zu erreichen. In der Nachbarschaft gibt es im Vergleich zu Manhattan günstige und qualitativ gute Restaurants. Wir haben uns auch abends im und um das Hotel herum sicher gefühlt. Das Hotel liegt zwar nicht in einer "bürgerlichen" Gegend. Da wir aus Berlin kommen, konnten wir damit gut umgehen.

Das Frühstück ist nicht abwechslungsreich. Wie fast überall wird nur Wegwerfgeschirr verwendet.

The room is decent, and the hotel is particularly clean from inside. There is a free water tap to fill water for guests. Basic amenities are present inside the hotel, and there are toilitiers in inside the room. Perfect if you plan to stay out exploring NYC but not if you end up staying within the hotel.

The breakfast included in the stay is not upto mark, and sometimes felt like a joke. It was the most basic, some days not even boiled eggs, and just bread and butter. The ingredients felt very cheap and of low quality. Don't include breakfast if you don't plan to make it decent at least. The hotel neighbourhood might not feel safe, only book if you don't plan to go out in the hotel neighbourhood in the evening or morning.

Overall this was a clean place to sleep for the night for our trip to see a Yankee's game. The staff at the front was very nice and helpful. We were able to drop off our luggage before the game. The AC was good. Easy to order food for delivery.

The breakfast was minimal, grab and go. Sweet cereal, bagels, and and oranges. The bathroom and shower walls are tinted glass but you can see outlines of the person using the facilities. Perfect for people you are close to but awkward for others. The mattress on a platform had no structure or edge. Felt like I was sleeping on a pile of clothes. Overall, the photos in the booking details are not accurate of what is actually available. No room table or chair. You either sit on a small stool or the bed.
