John was very communicative throughout our stay. He left us a welcome package that included helpful details about the cottage. The place was fully-equipped with kitchen supplies, which was great because we liked to cook. We especially loved the espresso machine! The place was just as advertised, except that it didn’t include basic soap and shampoo and a couple of us packed light and forgot to bring. It was much more spacious than we thought and we ended up not using the basement. We were 8 adults and the upstairs rooms were able to accommodate all of us. Plus, the basement was a little musky and didn’t have a lot windows anyway. We spent a majority of our time in the lake, it was very clam and peaceful. We were particularly grateful for all the water toys. We couldn’t jump off the dock because of all the seaweed, but we would paddle the giant foam raft out into the middle of the lake and jump off from there. Also, the dock was unstable and would often wobble when we walked across it. Unfortunately, we did encounter one impolite neighbour but overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the area was quiet.

My family and I just returned from staying at this amazing cottage. The photos do not do the property justice. It has everything you need and more. We had a great time using the water equipment and having nightly fires and relaxing in the hammocks. It is such a beautiful and quiet lake. The host John was extremely helpful and responsive to all of our questions. We are hoping to return again next year if possible:)

We rented this place to attend a family wedding with our adult children and partners. Everything was clean, organized and comfortable. John was a gracious and responsive host. Perfect place to unwind and connect. We loved it!

This was the perfect cottage for me and my family who were over visiting. I would definitely rent this property again and couldn't recommend it anymore to anyone looking for a perfect lakeside vacation

The property was a little older than we were expecting from the photos. The basement was not ideal for sleeping - very musty smelling and rooms were very small. You could not go for a swim without first going through a fair amount of seaweed and grasses to get to swimmable water. Both grandkids ended up with leaches on their feet - you need to be careful where you stand in the lake. The kitchen was very well stocked and had all utensils and appliances you needed. The back door has many bees coming and going all day, I believe there is a nest somewhere under the house siding.

Beautiful location right on the water with lots to do both inside and outside! The wifi was fantastic for remote work as well - able to sit and work outside as far as to the dock even! We really appreciated and enjoyed the SUP boards and kayaks, the older kids loved the hammocks and the younger kids enjoyed playing in the sand. The cottage is on a nice quiet road so we were able to walk and bike safely. Very close to lots of beautiful trails and waterfalls as well. Thanks for a great week at your beautiful cottage!

John's house met our needs perfectly. We were blessed with beautiful weather. The cottage is very well equipped and and was very comfortable for 6 adults. The small room off the kitchen was great for those in the party that needed to be "working from home". We are able to make good use of the 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boats. Sitting around the fire pit in the evenings looking at the stars is a memory we will all treasure. John was very helpful and accommodating . The goodies left in the fridge was a nice a touch.

Perfect Stay
John's house met our needs perfectly. We were blessed with beautiful weather. The cottage is very well equipped and and was very comfortable for 6 adults. The small room off the kitchen was great for those in the party that needed to be "working from home". We are able to make good use of the 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boats. Sitting around the fire pit in the evenings looking at the stars is a memory we will all treasure. John was very helpful and accommodating . The goodies left in the fridge was a nice a touch.

Perfectly decorated, super clean, so many little extras that you don't always get like hot chocolate, tea, kitchen spices, games, throw blankets, etc. The rooms were spacious, with gorgeous linens, and nice big closets. We loved the downstairs stove and every second in that warm home! The host was quick to reply and lovely to deal with!

Family weekend at John's cottage
This home was our families little paradise for the family weekend. Perfectly decorated, super clean, so many little extras that you don't always get like hot chocolate, tea, kitchen spices, games, throw blankets, etc. The rooms were spacious, with gorgeous linens, and nice big closets. We loved the downstairs stove and every second in that warm home! The host was quick to reply and lovely to deal with!

The driveway and walkway to the door were cleared of snow. We walked into a toasty warm home which was wonderful considering the very low temps outside. The home is bigger than it appears outside. It was spotless and organized and had everything we needed. We just had to bring food and our personal items. We were even greeted with some much-appreciated beverages when we arrived! The home is well taken care of and up to date and we felt comfortable right away. The kitchen was fully stocked including dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher detergent and paper towels which was great. We all thought the beds were very comfy and nice quality bedding was provided. It was very nice to not have to bring bedding and towels with us. Paper products for the bathroom were provided as well. There were plenty of games, a foosball table and television to keep us entertained inside. The backyard was amazing with a fire pit and chairs, full view of the lake and a ready to use ice rink! It was so quiet when stepping outside and just very relaxing. The location of this home is great. Just about a 20-minute drive to Huntsville or Bracebridge and so easy to get to all the attractions. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Cottage Getaway!
My friends and I booked John's cottage for a week and we loved every minute of it. John was a great host and was always quick to respond to communications. The home itself is spacious and has multiple bedrooms shared nicely across 2 floors to allow for privacy. The backyard is large for a range of outdoor sports and activities and the hammocks are a perfect addition! The beachfront is a real treat for kids or anyone looking to lounge on the sand, and the dock with muskoka chairs was a perfect way to relax and watch the sunset. I highly recommend booking this property and we'll definitely be back!
