Proximity to the centre of Lerwick
I already knew there would be no breakfasts and that was not a deal breaker. However the en suite was very difficult to use - the screen between bath and wash basin prevented reaching the taps on bath or shower without climbing into the bath which in itself was tricky.

The two desk clerks were both outstanding. On the night I checked in Sean told me to book where I wanted eat in advance since it was wool week. I became ill, and Rory took it upon himself to move all of my luggage to a ground floor room so I didn't have to climb the stairs.
The location made it easy to walk to all the different sites I wanted to see and to eat.
Information in the bath stating that the glass partition moved so it was easier to get into the shower.

Brilliant location, lovely and clean.
Very helpful staff. Amazing view from the dorma window on the third floor, was looking right across to Bressay Island
A shame the restaurant is not open but can find loads of eating places around the town. A bit of a funky smell in the hall otherwise all good.

Can't fault the helpful staff. Great location and historic building.
Not really a proper hotel as no facilities beyond what is in the room eg nowhere for quests to sit in a lounge
Needs some investment, starting perhaps with replacing the frayed towels.
Needs maintenance - the bathroom light did not switch off
