The location was better than I expected, with the apartment located right on a road with interesting shops, and just one block away from the wonderful Place Carnot. The apartment is very quiet and it has everything you need for a short stay, including tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave. It's also quite spacious for a studio flat. Note that it's on the 3rd floor of an historic building, with no lift.

Responsive host(s), clear and quick communication. The property smelled lovely and fresh upon arrival and was spotlessly clean throughout. The apartment is cute and spacious with a nice view of the castle, and very quiet with the windows facing the inner courtyard. No oven, but otherwise a very well equipped kitchen that provides everything you need for cooking simple meals. There's an efficient A/C unit in the living room and a fan in the bedroom for hot weather. Lovely spacious and clean shower with hot water and moderate water pressure. Brilliant location: easy walking distance from the bus stops from and to the airport, the restaurants & grocery shops, and the castle.

The bed linen were heavily starched: even after showering, a powdery residue remained on hair, and the cardboard-like duvet cover rustled like paper. We actually had to remove it during the first night, because it felt so unpleasant against the skin and was so noisy! The mattress is quite firm, which my partner found uncomfortable but I was OK with. The pillows were too firm for us both, and one was not quite enough while two together was too much. The shower enclosure floor kept filling up with water. I had to pull out the plastic anti-odor valve every time to allow the water to drain and then replace it after showering. I can only assume this is because the flap on the valve wasn't working as intended. There are 75 steps to the apartment, and the staircase is quite narrow at the top and missing a handrail at the bottom; something for elderly travellers / people with mobility issues to be mindful of. I do want to emphasise that these were very minor issues and we were both delighted with the apartment!

I couldn’t rate this apartment high enough, 2 minute walk from the centre of carcassonne, beside all the shops and a 5 minute walk from the train station. Apartment was very tidy and quiet and the host was excellent!

Two of the doorframes were slightly smaller so careful if you are particularly tall, but not a particularly bad problem

The location was brilliant. Room was of very French character, which was ideal for travelling Brits The building is a living piece of history

The steps are a challenge, but that is made clear when booking.
