The Three Lions

It was clean smart and well maintained, the room was large as was the en-suite and the bed was very comfortable. The food was excellent, we had dinner and breakfast and both were well above average. The service was attentive, relaxed and friendly.

Our room was adjacent to the washing machine and tumble drier. Both ran on our arrival (early evening) and early the next morning when we would have preferred a lie in. I mentioned this to staff and they turned it off in the morning but I would politely suggest to the owners they sound-proof this cupboard that backs on to this room.

Clean. Uncluttered. Some of best pub food I’ve eaten in years. Outstanding.

Lovely quiet situation. Staff friendly and helpful. Good stop over for Portsmouth ferry. Good breakfast. We arrived too late to dine there, but the menu looked good.

Room was nice and hot tub was lovely. Outside space connected on to a large shared garden which was great. Pub had a nice atmosphere.

Room wasn't very clean - there were shreddies on the floor when we arrived! Service in the pub for both evening meal and breakfast was very slow. At breakfast, everyone in our group who ordered toast had it arrive very burnt - we were surprised they let it out of the kitchen like that as it wasn't edible! When we asked for new toast (which we had to twice) there was no apology, instead we were made to feel like we shouldn't have asked. Real shame as the place had some good things about it, but the attention to detail was lacking.
