Albergo Roma

Great location in the charming, atmospheric, medieval old town, easy to find for pilgrims walking the Via Francigena. Fabulous shower. Clean. Has an electric kettle for making a hot drink and elevator to the upper floors. Good breakfast included in the price. Was able to organise an earlier check-in.

Check-in required you to go to the ‘sister’ hotel, which was about 200m down the street, not really that far but an inconvenience if you are walking the Via Francigena. Breakfast was provided at the ‘sister’ hotel… again a little inconvenient

Good location in Buonconvento. Clean but very minimalist, bed comfortable and area pretty quiet. Breakfast up the road was good and not an issue to walk to. Check in also up the road, a short, flat easy walk.

Nothing all was good

It had everything that anyone who is walking the Francigena would need for an overnight stay. The breakfast in the nearby (200m) location in a partner hotel was excellent.

Nothing. But some people might not like having to walk 200m for breakfast if the weather is bad.

Very nice room. The albergo dealt with the luggage transfer company Bags-Free without a problem.

This is NOT a proper hotel, it is an unmanned annex of Hotel Ghibellino 450 meters away! You'll have to first walk up to the Albergo Roma, read the notice on the door, then walk to the Ghibellino to check in and get your keys. Then back to Albergo Roma, and in the morning you'll have to hike back to the Ghibellino to have your breakfast and check out. They neither said so on Booking.com, nor did they warn us (or indeed answer at all) when we messaged the albergo about our arrival time.
