Wow! What a special place!! I absolutely loved staying here. The decor is so tasteful and elegant and with all the comfort! I spent a long time in the sun room on the sun lounger and various sofas. The bathroom is beautifully designed also and I enjoyed long baths ! Very thoughtful touches like the maps and information about local cafes, restaurants, galleries, sights etc. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful! The staff are wonderful - kind, friendly, sincere and helpful! It was a perfect stay. I definitely recommend this place !!

Can be a bit noisy with passing river traffic, but they provide ear plugs which is very thoughtful. I actually liked the noise as it was just passing and felt very immersive into the river culture.

This place is so cute. Loved being right on the Nile. Having a washing machine was a bonus. And the breakfast was fab !

Tad noisy at night with the party boats going up and down the Nile. But they supply earplugs so really not that much of an issue. Also hard to find but I’m told they are rectifying that.

Amazing facility with themed furniture boho artistic vibe! Much recommend as visiting the pyramids. You dont have to deal with cafes and restaurants by the Nile to enjoy the view you can just stay at the boat even working remotely is a very nice idea specially the balcony

It can get noisy during sleeping ours

For a loud busy city, this houseboat was much quieter than expected (provided earplugs were not needed). The large gorgeous rooms were comfortable. The manager was so kind and helpful. The guard insured our arrival was safe and carried our bags. The ambiance of the party boats going by and the teams rowing brought life to the river while we lounged in the hammocks, gently rocked by the soft waves! Superb!

I didn't like having to leave. I wish I had more time.

I would definitely revisit the place.. all by the nile, clean, cozy and simple! the location is close to most of the great restaurants in Zamalek.. only a5-10 mins ride with uber.

Everything was perfect.

The property was set in a beautiful location and very handy for all sights of Zamalek- felt like an idyllic haven in the middle of Cairo.

The location on the Nile River was second to none. This houseboat experience had me immersed in the culture, feeling as if I immediately became a more intimate part of Egypt.

So unique and atmospheric unlike the aging sterile hotels. Communication was great 😃

As to be expected for a boat... the shower was tricky.

Road traffic noise at night (like many places in Cairo) No heating in winter Need to take taxi to get anywhere (Uber and Egyptian Sim card very useful) Bit expensive given fittings are basic

Paola’s hospitality was exceptional, with the houseboat being the perfect escape and relax from of a city that never sleeps!

The agreed check in time was delayed by upon arrival. We waited in the garden area for an hour whilst the cleaner finished preparing the Glasshouse for us. The next day we had pre-booked a traditional cooked breakfast at the houseboat but the cook was a no-show. After waiting 30 mins we contacted Paola and were told there was a last-minute issue with the cook and she couldn't make it. She apologized and helped us with an alternative solution. Both incidents were an inconvenience but we did not let them spoil our stay.

This was the most beautiful and atmospheric place I've ever stayed in Cairo. The hosts had gone the extra mile to welcome us, with fresh fruit in the fridge, use of an iron and washing machine, slippers in the bedroom and even earplugs in case the Cairo noise got too much (it didn't). They also provided a handy folder listing local services with maps and other useful information, including catered meals that could be delivered to the boat. The quirky interior was a delight, and the riverside mooring, set in a lovely garden, was both central and peaceful. It was hard to leave, and we're already looking forward to future visits!

Access wasn't the easiest, but that's only to be expected in a property of this age and type.

Self catering, although the security didn't speak english he was most helpful and attentive, great service. Jarome was quick to answer queries and recommendations were great. The restaurant recommendations were especially good, we tried a restaurant that wasn't on the list and we left and reverted to only eating at the recommended restaurants listed in the house manuel

Pillows were rather hard but Jarome exchanged them quickly for softer pillows
