Broadford Backpackers Hostel

I think this is probably the best hostel that we stayed at during our trip. The rooms are very modern with seemingly very new and clean white bedding; we were in a shared room of 6 but never had more than 5. There is a very friendly atmosphere and the staff are very helpful.

I think probably if your only requirement is a hostel in Skye and you have free choice then I would suggest that Portree might be a better location because it's a bit bigger, although there are (infrequent) buses between Broadford and Portree. We were still able to do everything we wanted to do on Skye by public transport from this hostel (e.g. Old Man of Storr etc) so it's definitely not a blocker.

Top-rate Hostel. Very chill atmosphere. This hostel, by far has been the nicest I’ve stayed in across Scotland.

I made reservations and requested a lower bunk (due to physical restrictions) and got this confirmation, including a lower bunk, months prior to my stay. When I checked in this was not the case at all. I had a top bunk but worse- the ladder was near the slanted ceiling so I had less than 20 inches of clearance to maneuver in and out. I was forced to sleep in the lounge that first night. Their reservation system and staff need to coordinate and be more cognizant. It was a blight on such a perfect experience.

Very friendly staff, super clean toilets and rooms

The beds in dormitories could use a privacy courtain and a better way to designate bed allocations

Hostel had nice common rooms and facilities.

Room was overpriced for location and being room in a hostel. Sink was so loud, as was in other rooms.
