The Big Texan Motel

The room was clean and had a delightful western vibe. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location and restaurant add to the value.

As a senior who requested a lower floor I was not a fan of need to drag my bad knees and my bag up metal stairs.

The place was just great, really a roadside americana and a hotel together, I took lots of pictures. Unique, but also clean and comfortable. I hope to be back!

There is no 24 hours reception, which was surprising for a hotel of this size and on a freeway. They should have 24 hours lobby open. When we arrived we could not find the room even if we had prearranged our arrival, then we discovered it was in a separate building. There was another family there also searching for their room like us. When we finally found it we loved it though.

Dee!! She changed dates at the last minute for us so we could get through Amarillo before the storms hit! Awesome!

Caulk was pretty gross in bathroom..easy fix

World famous so high expectations. Sadly most of us wasn't impressive.

My bed was sagged, a car alarm going off 7 times made our night very long, and we were (looking to the photo's in this listing) downgraded. Compensation was promised per email for the bed and car alarm (as they didn't do anything about it), but we didn't get the compensation because we also wanted compensation for the downgrade. We didn't get a response for that claim, so didn't receive anything. In the restaurant I got a steak well done, instead of medium. That was dealt with in a normal matter, and their employees let me use their phone to call the hotel desk as they were not present before 12 o'clock (so I couldn't complain/explain at the desk). That restaurant knows how to deal with disappointed guests! After almost 3 weeks without any compensation or communications, I can say I expected way more of this quite expensive motel.
