Riad Amegrad

Our stay at this riad was truly wonderful, and it ended up feeling like a home away from home. The riad itself was absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and quiet, with such a warm and comfortable atmosphere that I honestly never felt homesick during our stay. What really made our experience special, though, were our hosts, Salah and Abdul. Both of them were incredibly polite, caring, patient, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. I have to admit that I can sometimes be a little picky and probably a bit annoying with all of my questions and requests, but Salah and Abdul were always so patient with me. They were informative, helpful, and always willing to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I genuinely feel like they have set the bar extremely high when it comes to hospitality, and it will be very difficult for another place to match the experience they gave us. The breakfast was another highlight of our stay. Everything was delicious, and I especially appreciated how much Salah and Abdul went out of their way to accommodate our preferences. At one point, I mentioned that I would really like shakshuka for breakfast. Even though it wasn't something that was traditionally offered as part of their breakfast, they made sure we had it the very next morning. That might seem like a small gesture, but to me, it showed how much they genuinely care about their guests and want them to enjoy their stay. There was also one experience that really showed us just how committed the staff are to the safety and comfort of their guests. One night, my wife and I were returning to the riad very late when a local person began bothering us and demanding money. We were trying to get inside but were having trouble getting the door open, and the person continued bothering us, even saying that he would get the riad involved to make sure we paid him.

The only thing that I did not like was the fact that we had to walk a little more than we had anticipated to get a taxi and sometimes at night the locals can be a bit rude but that has nothing to do with the riad and the staff.

lovely historic place, quiet & "everyday life" neighbourhood away from the tourist masses (but still very central), warm & welcoming staff, relaxing inner courtyard.

we had a ground floor room and that was a bit humid (humidity problem?). But would still go back also to this room, it was a beautiful overall experience 🙂

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was generous and delicious, and the atmosphere felt calm and cozy. The location is perfect for exploring the Medina on foot. We were in a family room with 2 kids and everyone of us liked it a lot. :-)
