The property is fantastic! My best friend and I stayed 4 nights. It was a great time. The home was spotless, the view amazing, couldn’t ask for more. Looking forward to returning to this property.

Highly recommend staying at the Sea Gem Cottage. The location is stunning and the home is beautiful. Very clean with beautiful decor. We loved everything about our stay and can’t wait to go back!

The property was exactly as pictured, was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and had everything we needed. The views were spectacular and I just loved listening to the waves as I fell asleep each night. It was my first time to the Oregon Coast and the Sea Gem Cottage was the perfect place to stay. Attractions were also close by, like the Aquarium, Depoe Bay, and we saw the sea lions basking in the sun in Newport Bay. Even saw some seals swimming by the lighthouse.

Beautiful and well appointed property. The owners put a lot of thought into this place. The covered deck in the back is perfect for watching the sun set over the ocean. The driveway is very narrow. We managed a multi point turn at the end of the driveway so that we didn’t have to back out into oncoming traffic. This is the same driveway situation for many properties along the ocean. I would here again.

Our family of four (including two children ages 5 and 8) stayed here for 5 nights this summer. The cabin is super cute, clean and comfortable. The view cannot be beat! We enjoyed the proximity to lots of tourist sites and attractions. We would definitely book here again.

I was nervous, given all of the 5* reviews, that we would be disappointed, but sea gem really does live up to its incredible reputation! Fab location, between lots of amazing places to visit and eat. The cottage itself is modern, clean and spacious, with plenty of space for all 5 of us. The beach was so quiet and we rarely saw anyone else on it. Beautiful sunsets to see from the porch. Absolutely perfect!

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at the Sea Gem. The views from the kitchen, living area and loft are spectacular and are the feature of the property. The beach has an easy access point and you can easily walk either direction without running into another person so… plenty of privacy:) The interior of the house is cute and newly updated. We loved the simplicity of the kitchen and used it a few nights to cook in. There was a paper towel holder but paper towels were nowhere to be found. Maybe you have to bring your own? We were unsure. Two points of caution, we had limited service on the property. Our provider is Verizon and our coverage is typically pretty good. That said, when I arrived I was unable to access the property info on my phone to gain access to the house due to the limited service. Ultimately I had to hop in the car to head back towards Newport to get service and screenshot the info. Secondly and it was brought up in other reviews but backing out onto the highway is a bit sketchy. There is an overgrown bush on the property north of the Sea Gem that adds to the challenge. I have a Toyota 4Runner and backing out really didn’t seem like a safe option so I would pull over before entering the driveway and would back into the property. This helps but the poor visibility with the bush still isn’t ideal. That said, we had a great stay on this beautiful property and loved the privacy and the oceanfront views!

We rounded out our trip to Oregon for a family wedding with a 3 night stay at the Sea Gem. What an amazing property with gorgeous views. We were even lucky enough to see 2 pods of whales spouting and breaching from the front porch one evening! Well stocked with basic necessities, including laundry detergent, toilet paper and paper towels. Gas grill noted, however not noted in listing. Property is located on Highway 101, but wasn’t too difficult when coming and going. Hoping to return next year!

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our three night stay on the coast at the Sea Gem. It was so nice to drink our morning coffee looking out to the foggy coastline from the back porch and take a short walk down the rocky steps to the beach each day. Our boys (6 and 4 y/o) enjoyed sleeping in the loft and were able to manage the ladder with ease. Out of caution, we did instruct them not to come down without our permission and supervision as it is quite steep. There is a bit of road noise and it can be tricky getting out of the driveway as the house sits just off 101, but for us this was easily forgiven for the benefits of being so close to the coast and falling asleep to the sounds of the sea.

Beautiful little cottage, very tastefully decorated and lovely furnishings. However, it's bear bones. Not even an extra garbage bag. If you pack it in, you pack it out so you better bring what you want. The driveway opens onto Hwy 101 and there's not enough room to turn around. You have to back out onto the Hwy so bring along a partner to direct the traffic.

The weather was perfect for us. Coupled with the most amazing accommodations, we had perfection! Josh was so responsive to our questions and everything was super clean.

This property is 10/10! Location beyond amazing, comfort was top notch (high quality linens and furnishings), amenities were better than expected! Looking forward to returning next year.

First of all, this property is excellent! The house was updated, very well decorated, and perfectly located. I would’ve given 5 stars across the board if it wasn’t for a few hiccups. The check in process was simple, but when we entered the house, we noticed that the house hadn’t been cleaned/restocked from the previous guests. I was able to reach the host very quickly and he was very apologetic and let me know that this had never happened before. He arranged to have someone come out within 30 minutes to clean, change linens and restock. Due to the quick clean/turnaround, there were a few things missing like dish towels, extra paper towels and garbage bags, and we were only given four towels for three guests for three nights…doable, but it would’ve been nice not to feel so limited. I do believe that this was a one-off situation, but couldn’t help but feel like we missed out a bit on the full experience. Overall, we had an amazing time and would definitely recommend this property. The views are spectacular and we really enjoyed our stay.

This is the perfect little beach cottage!! Super clean and beautifully done, the owners thought of everything to make your stay wonderful!

What a cute little place this is! Everything is laid out and decorated beautifully. Anything we needed was available to use, and the home was welcoming and comfortable. It’s just a short drive to Newport and plenty of fun activities, shops, and restaurants. Our last day here was very windy and not fun to go outside but we were perfectly content to stay inside and enjoy the gorgeous view from the house.

Such a lovely place for an engagment. So beautiful, so tastefully decorated, so clean. The place was also well equipped. The ocean view and sunsets spectacular. We will be returning! Definately in the top ten of my all time favorite vacations.

Great cottage on the beach. Second time visiting this place. So cozy and relaxing.

Me and a couple buddies went to the coast a few days of Surf Perch and Black Bass fishing. We wanted to explore lots of fishing areas and the house was in a perfect location for that. The house was clean, facilities nice and overall a great experience. Will stay here again

Wonderful beach cottage! Immaculately clean and cozy cottage with direct beach access. We loved our long weekend there!

We had a wonderful time. The kids loved the loft space and we loved the view of the beach from the window. Everything in the beach house was clean and it was a comfortable stay. A very enjoyable stay and a place we would stay at again. I would recommend taking the time to back into the driveway when parking as the highway where the cottage is located can get very busy and backing out onto it is dodgy on a stormy day with vision obscured.

We went for a birthday get-away and it could not have been better. This was our second visit and I am sure we will be there again.

We were supposed to have two others stay with us but they didn't end up coming. The place is very easy for o Elderly or disabled to walk around. People that can't do steps would enter from the back and I believe the master with the slider to the back porch has no steps to get on to the balcony there. Beautiful views from most everywhere in this small house. It says it sleeps four, but there's a loft upstairs with twin beds and a big sofa great for extra kids or teens. The two bedrooms downstairs are queen beds. The decor is charming and sea motif. All anyone would need. Bought my own creamer for making coffee which they have Folgers, which was fine unless you're a coffee snob. Which I can be but just wanted something to have to wake up to. It's very minimalist which I like, but has everything you need. Warm and cozy, loved having a washer and dryer available. We will definitely come back one of our new favorite places to stay.

Stayed here 7 years ago, loved it then, love it more now with the great additions (additional bedroom and loft). The property owner responds quickly to questions and is very helpful! The charm of Sea Gem lies in the view and central location on the Oregon Coast. Problems, pressures, etc evaporated when we walked in saw the great deck.

The Oregon coast is spectacular this time of year and this is an incredible place to enjoy the show. I've never stayed so close to the beach before - it's amazing almost having toes in the water. Storms, fog, sun - whatever - it's all beautiful. The cottage is easy to find and delightful to stay in. We went walking during a storm, found a stranded turtle, connected with the Oregon Coast Aquarium's curator, and saved the turtle. It was all magical!

This is the first time in staying at the Sea Gem under new ownership and we were not disappointed to find our favorite getaway on the Oregon Coast just as we remembered it; the few changes we saw were for the better! Nothing compares with the Sea Gem. Thank you, Josh, for allowing us to enjoy the Sea Gem again.

We simply could not have asked for a better home base on our anniversary trip along the stunning Oregon coast. Yes, getting in and out of the driveway took some patience, but that was an extremely small price to pay for the stunning views, outstanding walking beach, perfectly clean house, and just the right amount of space for the two of us. It was cozy and perfect in every way. And we enjoyed dinner at South Beach Fish Market multiple nights in a row. Thank you for a magical retreat, Josh. Hope to return again!

Everything was wonderful. The house is on a bluff directly above the beach, very private and clean home. Nicely designed and appointed interior with plenty of space for our family to enjoy our weekend getaway. Great outdoor space facing ocean, large well manlintained deck and landscaping.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful setting. Short trail to the beach which was pretty secluded. House was very clean and modern. Beds were very comfortable and cozy. Upstairs “bonus room” was very bright and welcoming. I do wish there were kitchen washcloths so as to wipe tables, wash dishes, etc. And we needed to replace kitchen trash bag but couldn’t find one so improvised with grocery bags. All in all, just minor details. We will definitely try to come back!

The Sea Gem is just that, a gem. Wonderful place in a great location. Accomodation has everything you could possibly think of. We had a great stay and would like to thank Josh for having us. Will return again.!!!
