Location was excellent and the apartment was well equipped offering everything we could need. The host was extremely helpful and kind, making us feel completely at home. His local tips made our trip unforgettable. We would love to stay here again! Highly recommend The Heart of the Palace!
Nothing at all. Everything was just perfect!

Location is outstanding - within the palace walls but tucked away and quiet. The apartment is charming.
The host is friendly with good recommendations for things to do, places to eat, and using Uber not the taxis. He helped us navigate losing the apartment key in the ocean.
The view from the small outside balcony is outstanding although hot in the summer afternoon (best for morning coffee or the evening)
Be prepared that there are a lot of stairs to the apartment. This wasn't a problem for us but might be if you have mobility issues or a lot of luggage.

The location was great! Our host gave many great recommendations and was quick to respond to questions. We appreciated the provided refreshments. Having AC after a long day of exploring was very nice. Staying in a historical part of town felt very special.
Be aware that this is a busy part of town. If you leave your windows open at night you may be woken up to the noises of town. But with windows shut, it's not loud at all.

Convenient to the palace
Cheaply done apartment in dirty area (granted, Split is generally the least clean city/town we have visited (Dubrovnik, Zadar, and Opatija were all far nicer/cleaner). A downstairs neighbor's welcome mat had dog poop on it during our entire stay, so we had to avoid it every day. Some of the issues are due to the location itself, but a lot of it is the quality of the apartment and furnishings, which were not great. You're paying for the location, but it was not worth it.
