We had a great vacation. The kids caught big crabs off the dock. The house layout was nice and temperature wise, one of the coolest houses we have stayed in. The house was clean when we arrived. Just bring bottled water and bug spray and you'll be set for the week.
Agree with the other reviews-- the property manager was great and very responsive.

Our host, Kevin, was super helpful, check-in was a breeze. The house has everything you need and more. Paddleboard and kayaks, beach chairs, games, volleyball net, perfect little pool. First level has two bedrooms and full bath, a fridge perfect for unloading groceries and beverages, plus a pool table! Second level has bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Third level has primary suite, kitchen. With everything you need for cooking, dining room and living room area. The stove is electric and kind of tricky to cook on as some burners are not level. The decks on every level are great for watching the sunrise and wildlife. Herons amd egrets everywhere on the canals and of course the horses!
The small dock is perfect for launching SUPs and kayaks.
Overall this is a great place for a home base while visiting Carova.

Check in was a breeze, the owner was quick to reply to any question we had, and most importantly we felt like we had the beach and area all to ourselves. Our kids and their friends had a great time taking out the kayaks, swimming in the pool, playing pool, snapping pic of the horses, and of course hitting the beach. I loved early morning coffee and reading on the deck as the day unfolded. So peaceful! Thanks Kevin for a great week! And the Sunday check in is an added bonus to avoid the craziness of Sat traffic in the OBX!

The property manager and owners were amazing! The house is set deep in the heart of 4 wheel drive beach access and worth the trip! Every day was a new adventure and the nights were amazing! We will be back!

Our combined families enjoyed another 4x4 experience in OBX. House was perfect for our larger group. Multiple porches with beautiful views sunrise to sunset. Rustic exterior but interior was very nicely furnished for teens and adults.
Kevin was an excellent host. Responded within minutes to our questions and assured we had the comforts for vacation.
8.5 mile ride on sand is not for everyone but our group loved it!

I really enjoyed staying this week. If you want a little time away from the stress of life, this is the place. The owner and property manager were so helpful with whatever we needed. We needed a couple of beach chairs and they went out of the way and brought us some. We lost a kayak during a storm and the owners took their own time to help us look for it. Loved seeing the horses, which actually walked through our yard the day before we left. Overall, a great family vacation.
