The boathouse was the perfect setting for a relaxing weekend getaway. I absolutely loved the outdoor area and the quaintness of the house. It was close to all the activities we were looking to do and the property owners gave us some great suggestions on where to go for dinner and we found their suggestion about their favorite trail and it did not disappoint. They were prompt to answer any questions and I would definitely stay here again.

Staying in the south bayou keeps you sheltered from wind/waves. There's a seawall with cleats, a dock, and a smooth bottom place to beach the boat if desired. The tunnels under the road will fit most fishing boats. There's a bait shop a sand wedge away, and marine fuel just under the bridge. Can leave boat in the water all week. Kids can catch bluegill and small bass right from the seawall. Great fire pit area. Private on both sides of the back yard as well.

My husband and I wanted to explore the Ludington area for our anniversary. This cottage was perfect for the two of us. Very well appointed with charming finishes. The outdoor area was lovely and included paddle boat, kayaks, hammocks, docks and fire pit which were all a bonus. Honestly no reason to leave the space. Amanda and Nathan were so sweet and accommodating, check out their artwork in town if you have a chance at the Red Door Gallery. We would 100% return with our families. Love Ludington!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lake house and didn’t want to leave. House is nice with an awesome yard, several shade trees and easy access to the bayou and Hamlin Lake. Convenient location for going to the sand dunes (beach) or for a trip into Ludington. We would happily stay at this lake house again.

This cottage is so quaint on a wonderful piece of lakefront property. We stayed here after our wedding in ludington and it was the perfect place to relax.
Only feedback is that the water toys (paddle boat, kayaks, etc) could have been cleaned off prior to our stay. But we’re not picky and still took them out.

We enjoyed this cute cabin on the south bayou of Hamlin Lake. Love the decor and the open ceiling. We had fun fishing out of the paddleboat since we couldn't bring our boat this time, having a campfire, and using the hammock. Thanks Nathan for rescuing us when we locked ourselves out and for your recommendations! The MrCool AC in there is great! Would love to come back again! Not sure if y'all have thought about the windows but would recommend coverings again. 👀👀

We had an amazing stay at Nathan and Amanda’s property. The pictures don’t do it justice with what a great location it is. Amanda was so accommodating over messaging and making sure we had everything we needed in order to bring our infant son. The place was cozy and everywhere we slept and lounged around was so comfortable. Would definitely recommend and hope we will be back in the future!

Location location location. We loved our time at the Sweetwater Boathouse. It was super comfortable inside and out. We loved the fire pit as well as the deck. Inside has awesome artwork and very comfortable beds. Can’t wait to go back!

I property was very nice. The place was perfect for my husband and I and we loved being on the bayou, we could take our kayaks directly into the water. We used the fire pit three times and had a great time outside.

I property was very nice. The place was perfect for my husband and I and we loved being on the bayou, we could take our kayaks directly into the water. We used the fire pit three times and had a great time outside.

This is cute little hideaway.
It sits on a very small lake. You can access Lake Hamlin from the small lake and Lake Michigan is only a few minutes away.
The Boathouse has small, a nicely appointed kitchen, which is open to the living room. The bedroom is just off the living room. Downstairs is another bed and a door outside. We didn't use the downstairs much, there is a very narrow spiral staircase to the downstairs that is a little tricky to navigate.
There is a very nice deck and chairs off the living room that overlooks the little lake we spent a lot of time out there which made the space seem that much bigger.
The owners have done a wonderful job making this a cute inviting place and they were very responsive to the few questions we had.
It was pretty quiet when we were there in the fall, but I imagine that in the summer there might be more activity on the little lake.

This is absolutely the cutest cottage you will find. We have been coming to Ludington for almost 30 years and have stayed in other resorts around Hamlin Lake as well as condos downtown. The backyard alone has convinced our family that this is really the best vacation option. Sitting out by the water with our morning coffee was the perfect way to start each morning.
