Good location, but a bit noisy. Unit is small but has everything. Sheldon was a great host.

From the moment Sheldon welcomed us outside the building with a smile and a laugh until the moment we bid farewell to John on our way out, we felt right at home. The flat was perfect for 2, with everything as advertised and some extras we didn't expect, such as a cabinet stocked with coffee and other staples, a bottle of crisp white wine, and a bar of chocolate. The location is perfect. We try to come up to Vancouver every summer, and we usually stay in the West End because it's convenient for cycling, kayaking, and eating outdoors. This was by far the most convenient and congenial location we've found, and with such agreeable hosts we'll come back again and again. Did I mention the balcony? It was not just a great place for morning coffee and afternoon reading, but it also offered a great view of the Celebration of Lights fireworks over English Bay, another unexpected treat. Sheldon and John's place is a real find. Highly recommended.

Comfortable, cozy and clean space with great views of the West End and English Bay. We spent every morning and evening enjoying the views and city energy from the balcony. Quiet, safe and very walkable neighborhood. Near lots of great restaurants, 5-10 min walk from English Bay Beach, Stanley Park and Coal Harbor. And on bus line so super easy to get around the city. Sheldon was very welcoming. He provided clear and timely communication. We’d gladly stay again when we come to visit!

The apartment was amazing - we loved that it was so well equiped, it was so close to plenty of restaurants, public transport & the views from the balcony were fabulous - could sit & have our own “Happy Hour” & watch the sunset 🌅

The location of this property is ideal for many activities within walking distance. It features any amenity a person could possibly wish for, and the hosts are friendly as all get out. We had a fantastic stay, slept well and totally enjoyed the sunsets (which are phenomenal btw) each evening out on the balcony. Five stars for sure.

This apartment was ideal for our stay in Vancouver. We walked everywhere! It is close to the beach, the park, Granville Island, and downtown. Sheldon was an excellent host and we hope to return there soon.

Sheldon and John are excellent hosts, and their place was just fantastic. It's right in the heart of the West End, with commanding views of English Bay, Denman Street, Stanley Park, and Vancouver's mountains. The unit was very nicely finished, and it's the best stocked VRBO we've ever stayed at. There was even a very large, free parking space. We've booked again for next year, and can't wait to return.

Being welcomed by Sheldon and John is only the beginning of a great stay. The unit is clean, very comfortable, all the amenities you could ask for including Coffee/filters, basic plus cooking needs, plentiful soft towels and linens, comfortable bed/pillows and then the view!! On the 14th floor the balcony faces the English Bay for amazing views. Close Proximity to restaurants, The beautiful English Bay Park with beautiful sunsets, transportation with friendly people when you think you may be lost?? Lol And feeling safe walking everywhere. I would highly recommend The Barclay House.

Everything about this appartment is really good, if not great: decent size, very close to Stanley Park and the seafront and many shops, it's clean, you feel very welcome, etc. The only issue is the bedroom gets very hot due to a hot water pipe being in one of the walls there, and it can take several days to figure out how much to open the windows so that it doesn't get too hot, or then too cold, during the night. And then it is quite noisy, being close to a commercial street. I struggled to sleep more than 3 hours in one go, which was a bit of a spoiler...

Such a beautiful weekend visiting Vancouver. Barclay house was a perfect place to stay near Stanley Park in downtown Vancouver. We had such beautiful, warm weather, enjoyed being near all the activities, and perfect view of the water and sunsets. Could not have asked for a better place to stayed. Highly recommend Barkley house, and if we ever get back to Vancouver will definitely stay again! Thank you Sheldon, for being a great host!

I called Vancouver home till we moved to Kelowna in 2020. This apartment, one bedroom and a living room/dining and kitchen open design was full of amenities. Lots of storage space, well equipped kitchen, towels galore and comfy beds. And washing and dryer in apartment. The location can not be beat with grocery, restaurant and all sorts of shops nearby. The view from our 14 story balcony was incredible. John, the person assisting us, was right on top of all issues. Friendly and helpful. He supplied us with everything we could need for a wonderful stay and the price was so reasonable. It felt like home and if I return I would not hesitate to stay here

Great location and professional hosts

Highly recommend this apartment - it was clean, conveniently located in a great neighborhood full of great restaurants and close to the beach, and has a balcony with a fantastic view. The host was very helpful and accommodating when we arrived several hours late. And it’s a great value compared to hotels in the area.

This property suited us perfectly. Nestled in between English Bay, Coal Harbour, and Stanley Park, we could walk everywhere for any activity on the list. The bus system is easy to navigate via their website. Felt safe the whole time. The property is spotless and accommodating to every need. John and Sheldon were responsive, professional, efficient, and friendly. Definitely, we will stay there again next time we’re lucky enough to visit Vancouver!

We stayed at this property for 12 days and it’s in the best location for everything imaginable in Vancouver’s West End. The hosts greeted us and stayed in touch during our stay. We will return!

Fantastic property, amazing location walking distance to many restaurants, activities and groceries. Hosts are fantastic with easy communication and great hospitality. This is not the best location for some children however, as it is a quiet building and neighbouring tenants like it to remain as such.

The location is great. There are so many places to check out nearby. I parked once and never used my car for 5 days. There are beautiful views from the balcony and the bedroom. The kitchen is well stocked, I only needed to buy the main ingredients for a meal.

This is been one of the most comfortable stays in Vancouver. Location is fantastic as it is only minutes away from our all favourite restaurants. Truly unbeatable convenience...only short walk from other attractions like Stanley park. The unit itself is lovely and fully stocked. It has air conditioning in the main area and fan in the bedroom for comfortable temperature. The balcony space has a beautiful view and was so relaxing sitting out there taking in the sights of the city and waterfront. John met us for check in and it was a seamless process from check in to out. Communication was smooth. John and Sheldon have been the most hospitable hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be staying here for our next Vancouver visit!!

We loved our stay. The place was just perfect, and a short walk to the lovely Stanley Park. I’d definitely rebook if we make our way to Vancouver again.

Apartment was very clean; bed firm and comfy; great view to English Bay from the 14th floor; located near groceries and restaurants. Hosts were very helpful. Extra touches like wine, chocolate, condiments were appreciated. Bedroom faces Denman so got noisy starting around 7:30 am. Not noisy at night though.

Ocean in front and mountains to the side, a perfect spot to enjoy a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.… The kitchen was nicely stalked with things you don’t want to have to buy when you’re only there for a few days like oils and seasonings and teas. The same goes for the bathroom, where there were complimentary shampoos, conditioners and body washes along with lovely plush towels. The bed was nice and comfy and my friends who stayed on the pull out sofa said they had a fantastic sleep and really enjoyed waking up to the view through the living room/balcony window. We had a small glitch with our keys but John was there in a flash to sort things out and later even accommodated our friend with a parking spot out back while she visited. The communication was fast, easy and thorough and as such, we have nothing negative to say… WE WILL BE BACK!!! Thank you John and Sheldon for providing us with such a great place it really made our trip to Vancouver extra special!!
