Nicely updated house in older neighborhood. Nice architecture details in home which made it feel larger, comfy bed, good water pressure and beautifully decorated. Comfortable couch with nice kitchen island and good supply of needed kitchen items. Very clean house. Owner communicated quickly when messaged. Train heard at times but never woke us up. Would stay there again.

Overall we had a wonderful stay at this property. Very clean, and it's located on a quiet street (except for the occasional freight train).
It really IS a short walk to the downtown area/main drag which offers great (thrift!) shopping and dining. You can also walk to the I&M trail and do a loop onto the riverwalk and back through town.
Driving over to Walmart/Krogers/Aldi from this house is simple, as well as driving to Buffalo Rock and Starved Rock State Parks. After 1 day of using GPS, I didn't need it anymore because it's in a super easy area to navigate to anything.
Inside there's a large (& wonderful!) island in the kitchen which makes cooperative cooking a breeze. There's also a bar type area to eat while watching TV, or for remote work (perfect height as a standing desk too!) My only negative: there are no nightstands and no other lighting than the ceiling lights (and a really cool night light). No stars off, because it's not a deal breaker, though after a week I got tired of putting my glasses and phone on the floor next to the bed, and I missed a small lamp to read by at night.
Owner communication was fantastic - seemed very down-to-earth and eager to make us comfortable.
I would definitely re-book with this property if I found myself in the area again. After a few days it felt like home, and is in a friendly neighborhood and town that's located in a perfect spot. 5 Stars

This house appears to have been recently renovated giving it the feel of a very nice hotel tucked away in a home on the west side of Ottawa. They even had milkbone treats available for those with 4 legged guests. At one point the power flickered for a moment and came back on and the very attentive property manager messaged to make sure everything was alright. Overall great place to stay and close to downtown Ottawa as well.

The house is a cute little 2 bedroom home. Very ppl,,,zclean and udated. Nice small backyard to let the dogs out. The backyard is 95 % fenced in. We enjoyed our stay lots of things to do in the area. Weenjoyed hiking at Starved Rock, antique shopping in Ottawa. Definitely a great place to stay.

We were visiting ottawa area. Close access to downtown and canal trail. Downtown restaurants were within walking distance. Enjoyed a little fall weather and color.

This house is absolutely perfect! Super cute and cozy! I stayed with my Boston terrier Murphy we loved the backyard. Within walking distance of just about any thing you may need. Good distance to starved rock and Matthiessen park. Would definitely stay here again!

A cozy and very well-maintained location with a lot of charm! All the amenities one would need for a very comfortable stay with a lot of character. Excellent location, walking distance to all downtown Ottawa locations and restaurants. I can’t wait to return. Everything at this location was very well thought out And the host was great to work with.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in the cozy home in Ottawa, Illinois. The home is very clean and well appointed with pots, pans, cutlery etc. Sierra had coffee pods and granola bars for us as well. We look forward to staying again next summer if the home is available.

Needed time away, and rental was PERFECT for our needs! Made extra special that so many incidentals were provided, but overall the rental was the thing that made the trip. We’d hike for many hrs each day, and was SOO NICE returning ‘home’ to functioning EVERYTJING!!!!

The house was exactly as described and the property owner even surprised us with some flowers and a card for our special occasion.
The home is located about 15 minutes from starved rock hiking which was perfect for us.
Only complaint, no body soap. Not an issue if I'd known in advance.
Overall a good place to stay if you're looking to hike.

Everything was great! They place was nice and clean and had some really nice personal touches. It was within walking distance to bars and restaurants and downtown, there is also a mini-mart a block away. I would definitely stay here again next time I go to starved rock!

Great property walking distance from bars and restaurants in downtown Ottawa. Loved that we could bring our dog. Kitchen and bathroom were equipped with everything we needed. There isn’t much room in the bedrooms for luggage, so it was good that it was just us and we could use the second bedroom for our stuff. The common spaces were nice a roomy. 15 minute drive to Starved Rock and Matthiessen Parks.

The house was clean and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing simple meals. The location was great for planning day hiking trips to the parks. The thoughtful treats and clean up bags for my dog were very appreciated. Neighborhood was quiet.

The house was very clean. The kitchen had everything I needed to make dinner. The bed was one of the most comfy beds I have eber slept in! Perfect distance from a bunch of the state parks. We went hiking at Starved Rock and it was only 20 minutes from the house!

The house is cozy with an open floor plan and very clean. It was great to be able to find a nice place that also allows pets at a good price range! Others seemed to be charging outrageous nightly rates, which we couldn't afford. Great location and quiet neighborhood. Because of the bad weather we needed to book an extra night and Sierra was so accommodating to make everything smooth. We had an awesome experience and would definitely rent again!

Ottawa was a wonderful town for a weekend getaway. We loved Sierra’s quaint home and were excited to bring our pups along. Lots of nice touches in the home including coffee. Would absolutely stay here again.

We loved staying here. We cycle a lot so being able to access the canal trail directly from our house was awesome. We hiked at starved rock and ate at bash burger. The house was a lot cleaner than most places I have stayed.

We spent two nights in Ottawa on our way back to Florida. The house is good for two people. The bed was comfortable and the house was very clean. Bonus K-Cups with coffee maker and cream/sugar. Communication with the owner was great. The house is within walking distance of downtown with some nice parks and good places to eat. Washington Park is interesting, highlighting the Lincoln-Douglas debates. The park on the Fox River is a nice walk. We wanted to visit Starved Rock State Park but it was a Saturday and VERY busy! Good for us because we discovered other things to do: The Visitors Center at the Illinois Waterway, just opposite the park was so much fun. We saw a barge coming through the lock, and it has a nice museum. Also stumbled on Buffalo Rock State Park, complete with buffalo and good walking trails. The house is older in an older neighborhood and river town but was updated and comfortable and we would recommend staying here.

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend with our dog to go hiking. Sierra provided us with information about the area. She provided dog treats and poop bags which was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen roomy and stocked with the necessary items, including bottled water and condiments. The window air conditioning unit wasn’t sufficient to cool the bedroom to a comfortable sleeping temperature for my husband.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, Sierra’s communication was quick, and we would stay here again.

The house is so much cuter in person than in the pictures. Sierra was a great host! She left us a great variety of coffee and even left us creamer and sugar. Overall it was a great stay and we had everything we needed, plus some.
