Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Gulf Winds West was an excellent choice for our 1st blended family vacation. We had more than enough space, the house was clean and furnishings were just as pictured. It's across the street from the beach and situated in between the 12th and 13th street public beach access, I think the 12th street access is a little closer, but it's a decent walk, about .3 miles. But we made use of our beach wagons. It was nice to be able to bring our small dogs and not have to board them. The dog gate was a helpful inclusion to keep pups from going upstairs to the bedrooms. We loved the pool area, a must in the summertime but it's definitely not cool when the days are as warm as they have been... more like bath water, but we enjoyed it in the evenings especially with the breeze.The coffee table in the living room is coming apart on the bottom and the chair in the corner of the living room leans back hard, you can see from the wall beside it that it's taken a few hits. Never could get string lights under the house and around pool to work, but it didn't matter. All in all we had no complaints and would definitely stay here again.

Great family vacation spot. Close enough to everything but far enough to be away from crowds. House had everything we needed and room for visitors to come for dinner.

The urine sheet on the pullout sofa was deplorable and stunk very bad. Dog bones and peanut shells around and under sofa. Chairs are stained and dirty. Had sticker burrs on steps and inside of beds. Hurt me and the kids. Loved the pool but won’t stay here again. I was afraid none of the other sheets were washed either so I washed everything all night the first night. I did not change piss stained sofa bed as I wasn’t touching that I just put it back up. I was embarrassed I had rented such a dirty place for my family. You might need a new maid I don’t know.also very hot upstairs but note said if I lowered the a/c I would have to buy them a new one! Not happening. Your a/c needs a charge not my credit card!
