We stayed at siesta-zen property for a family wedding. The location was perfect. Walking distance to the town, restaurants, local market and the beach. We had plenty of space inside and the outside space was beautiful!! Very clean, everything you needed was supplied even a lovely bottle of wine!!!! We will definitely be back. Overall, this cottage is ideal! It is in the BEST location,making it convenient and easy to walk to the village or the beach. Everything is exceptionally clean and updated. However, there are a some things that need to be fixed. For instance, the back door in the bedroom does not lock properly. I noticed this was mentioned once before and the response back was that Siesta Key is an island free of crime and is very safe. That most certainly should not be the response, when someone is renting a place for vacation. Regardless of that, one should be able to lock the back door and comfortably sleep at night being reassured that the door is safely locked. The only way to know if it is locked, is to lock it from the outside with the code and walk around the cottage and reenter from the main door. This is a BIG issue and I am appalled that it was mentioned previously and not taken care of. As a side note, I live in an extremely safe area, yet there is still crime anywhere you go and everyone has the right to lock their doors.In addition, there is a really nice big window in the kitchen, which used to have a shade at one point because you can see the hardware is installed. When it is dark out, and the gate to the patio doesn't lock, it would be nice if a shade was installed to be able to pull down at night. The patio with all the palm trees is beautiful, but the door to the patio doesn't close properly and there should be a lock from the inside. In addition, the pavers leading to the gate, are not securely placed, making it very difficult to wheel in luggage. Not conducive for people with bad backs or anyone that is older and can't simply pick up their suitcase and carry it.The back bedroom needs another way to turn on the light and the fan. As is, if you are not tall, you need to climb onto the bench to turn on the light and fan. (not safe by any means) Also, there is no mirror in this bedroom either, which would make things more convenient when getting ready to go out, as the other bedroom has a mirror. Lastly, there is no light in the kitchen, and there was one cockroach spotted in the kitchen as well.

We don’t have enough great things to say about our stay here. We couldn’t have asked for more. The description was on point, and it’s not exaggerating when it said they thought of everything. Every detail was covered. The cottage was great and very very clean. The beach was a very short walk — less than a few blocks— away. We come to Siesta Key every year to visit family that live close by. We stayed almost a week on this trip. On our second day, we decided that we’d like to return to this spot. The property is fantastic. Bravo to the host!

The location was perfect, and easy walk to the beach and 10 minutes to all the restaurants, we didn’t miss having a car. Dan was prompt at responding to all questions and the cottage was cute and comfortable for our family. I would stay there again!

We are always grateful when our VRBO meets our expectations and our recent stay with Gertrude Rentals fit this billing to the tee. As advertised our home was minutes from the beach and restaurants to where we never had to get in the car. Our home was more than spacious with all the amenities needed, not only for a good night sleep, but also to prepare meals and just relax in the home. Extremely clean and well organized. The puzzle left in drawer was a very nice touch. Once in our home we never had to communicate with the owner as everything was as described and worked perfect. Very unique little cottage style home

I would stay at this location again! Clean, close to the village and very close to beach access #8. Text landlord and got a response within minutes and he was very friendly. Love the big window with the fenced in yard. The beach chairs and cart were very helpful. I would book and will since I live only 3 hours away.

VERY COZY TROPICAL SETTING A FEW COCKROACHES TO FEED TO THE LIZARDS THE TOASTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TISSUE PAPER WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL SOAP BAR COULD HAVE A LITTLE BIGGER A LITTLE LAUNDRY SOAP WOULD BE HELPFUL A LITTLE SALT AND PEPPER WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE BOTTOM LINE, IT'S A COZY LITTLE PLACE NEAR THE BEACH WITH SOME VERY NICE TOYS AND A "BEACH WAGON" TO CARRY EVERYTHING!

Had a lovely stay in the heart of Siesta Key. Home was immaculately kept and had a cool vibe to it. Beautifully updated and comfortable. We enjoyed coffee on the back patio and especially being able to easily walk to the beach. Big plus was having beach chairs, towels and a cart right there. Awesome time.

We had such a wonderful visit in Siesta Key! The house was the perfect size for our family of five. Location was close to beach, shops and dining…all very quick and easy walks. Everything we needed was included in the house. Cart to pull the chairs to the beach was a huge help! If we make it back to Siesta Key, we would definitely stay here again.

The house and location were absolutely amazing. Steps from both the beach and village. We would definitely stay here again. My only qualm was that the house was not ready at check-in time. The cleaners were there a good half hour past check in. The back patio was also a little overgrown so we didn’t use it at all. Other than that, would definitely recommend!

Comfortable, a little funky re room arrangement. It worked for us and we could walk to Village which we really liked and enjoyed. Really pleasant. I slept well in the front room, neither traffic nor light were a problem. Lack of hanging space a bit of an issue.

Our stay was very memorable for our family. Even though temps dropped to low 30s, the host was very quick to provide any needs. We love how close we were to to ocean and to shops/restaurants. It is a bit smaller than what we expected but it turned out to be perfect. We are looking to stay there in the future.

I raised my sons on siesta so the area is special and familiar to us. This was gramma’s peaceful escape. Close to walk our dog in the neighborhood & for us to catch the sunsets along the beach and walk into the village for drinks & dining. Convenient to everything. The backyard was a tropical oasis to enjoy coffee or cocktails. The local Osprey was our alarm clock roosting above in the trees. Love, love, loved it.

The mosquitoes were unbearable so we added citronella candle and bug spray for future guests to enjoy! The location was within walking distance to the village as well as the beach! Surrounding guests were super friendly and quiet. Only downside is the road noise from Canal Rd. If sleeping in single bed near front of house it is very loud at night as cars roar by, also, if you prefer dark room to sleep in this room does not get very dark. Thankfully, we were visiting in October and not the high season otherwise I think the street noise from Canal Road may have been annoying.Extra bonus: all the beach items were included!All that aside, I still think we would definitely stay here again!

Came here for a girls weekend and it did not disappoint! A minute walk to the beach - a wagon and beach chairs were provided and Made the whole experience so convenient! Great location - 5 minute walk to the siesta key village filled with food, shopping, music and drinks! Cottage was exactly as shown on as. Definitely will book again next year when we return!
