The stay was okay. My only complaint - the oven was dirty, and I was charged for a propane bottle that was not changed before we arrived and we did not use the grill. U

I rarely ever write a negative review. I always try and address concerns and/or reach an understanding with the provider if there is ever an issue. However, in this instance, I do not want someone else to fall victim to the ways of this property. 1. Upon reviewing the property, prior to booking, I inquired about the exact nature of furniture at the home, specifically a table and chairs (for a thanksgiving dinner). In response, I received multiple automated emails warning me that hosting parties was a violation of the house rules. I again messaged the owner of my intent and suggested I may not be a good candidate for the space, but was assured I was. 2. After booking but prior to checking in, I noticed several new troublesome reviews left by very recent guests. I followed up with the owner to ensure the items had been fixed and resolved. I sent an itemized list and was told everything was repaired. I specifically confirmed that the pool would be cleaned and heated and available for use when we arrived the evening of our check-in date. (I prepaid the heating / cleaning fee and I would not have booked this property if it did not have a working heated pool. That was a key attractive feature in why I booked it.) 3. Upon arrival, the following things were noticeable (which were specific items I had been told were repaired):- the screen door to the pool area was laying against the outside of the home, unattached; blinds were off the tracks and on the floor; the master bathtub was unusable due to the cracked and non-grouted tiles; the entire home floors were so incredibly dirty and disgusting that literally the bottoms of our feet were black within a few hours of being in the home; the furniture was stained and dirty. Two of the couches were so soiled that I was concerned about sitting them. However perhaps most frustrating was that the pool was dirty and ice cold. I tried multiple times to follow-up with the owner both when staying at the property and also after our stay to rectify the issue that I had paid for the heat and cleaning of the pool but was not able to enjoy it. My daughter tried to use it twice but had to get out because it was so cold. In response, the owner sent me PICTURES (off of a recording) of my minor daughter claiming we were able to use the pool "multiple times." Be very cautious! There are cameras filming you! I would strongly advise against renting this property.

Ami shared that this is a fairly new re-model and that they were looking for feedback on what was missing. I made a list and shared it. But the primary disappointments were the house description was inaccurate and the extra fees. The ad says it sleeps 16. That must be a typo. It’s three bedrooms and two pull out couches so maybe 10 at most. I’ll chalk that up as a typo. We were 5 adults so not an issue. What was an issue: 1. We were given an incorrect code to enter the home so we waited about an hour before being able to get in. That was tough after a long trip and in the local heat. 2. Kitchen: Only 4 coffee mugs in the kitchen, a teeny tiny coffee pot, small and dirty cookware. Kitchen table is small for what is billed as a house for 16 ppl. 3: backyard could use some patio furniture so the family can sit around the pool. The pool and spa are beautiful and inviting. We didn’t go in though. Why? Because it costs an extra fee to use them. Read the fine print for details or ask before booking so you’re not surprised. 4. Bedrooms and bathrooms are basic. Nothing glaringly omitted. Overall there are still some upgrades that can make this a 5 star location. For now I leave it a 4

The house is nice--bright and obviously remodeled--and quiet/nice neighborhood. The bummer is the price vs. the value. After taxes, cleaning fees, extra pool cleaning fee, pet fee--it was about $600 a night. Owner made us pay for pool cleaning even though there wasn't time to heat it before we came, so pool was freezing. At check in, we had to drive around 30 mins because owner said we hadn't sent the extra payment, but we had the night before with proof. If the owners spent one night's rental fee on upkeep, many issues might be resolved: garbage disposal broken, screen door kept falling off, upstairs master bathroom unusable to bathe because faucet flies off then drain won't plug and shower doesn't get hot water even after running it for a couple minutes. And, there was no Wifi. TV worked with their provider, but no other Wifi which meant no computer for our daughter to do homework or for our business emails/communication unless we went to Starbucks. Outside pool area was pretty dirty with floaties people left behind that were gross. A few chairs to sit in but not a lounging by the pool situation, at all. If this house were priced at half of what it was, I might expect a few issues, but it was really expensive to have to text the owner so much--with nothing resolved. Usually, you check in and check out with a hello and thank you goodbye text. So, read the fine print and the house rules to know what you are paying for. Owner was very kind but offered no apology or reimbursement for the multitude of issues. I stopped texting after one day because I was embarrassed to complain anymore. It's a privilege to travel, I know, and didn't want to seem ungrateful, but when you travel nine hours to a home you are trusting is as it is represented online, you put your good faith in the owners who gladly take your (nearly) $2000. Live and learn, I guess.
