GAIA Alaçatı BY THE SEA - Adult Only

We had a blissful stay at Gaia by the Sea. The hotel is small but beautifully appointed and each room has a (hot) mineral spring pool. The staff were exceptional, particularly Zeynep and Matt, who couldn’t do more for us. The sea/beach area has generous sun beds and full food and bar service. The only downsides are that there is no food service in the evenings, the Michelin starred restaurant closed for the season while we were there, and the local area/access road aren’t great. However, it is a short taxi ride into the towns of Alaçati and Çeşme where there is an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants. This hotel is perfect for those wanting a peaceful, relaxing holiday.

We spent two joyous and relaxing weeks at Gaia by the Sea. The room was decorated tastefully, and the thermally heated pool a lovely option. The beach area, too, was well-designed and comfortable, the sea crystal clear and inviting. We'd like to express particular thanks to Mert, Zeynep, Djibril and Bariş, but should also stress that every member of staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great holiday. We ate once at Ritũel, which was first-class, both in food terms and in its waterside location. Mert helped us to design a two-day trip to Efes and Pamukkale, with Baruk as the driver. It was an experience we would very much recommend to other potential visitors! In summary: excellent in all respects!

The property had a lovely, calm private beach area which we really appreciated with our two little doggies. Great for swimming as it was always very calm! The staff were very welcoming with our little dogs :) The breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed spending our slow mornings eating and drinking before heading to the beach area. We really appreciate the small, boutique feeling of the hotel and overall vibe. The staff were always happy to help with recommendations and booking taxis. The cleaning service was fantastic!!

Sämtliche Mitarbeitenden waren super freundlich – mit Ausnahme der Führungskräfte. Die Zimmer sind schön und ausreichend gross, das Meer ist sehr sauber. Auch die verschiedenen Essbereiche sowie die Liegebereiche am Strand haben uns gut gefallen.

Mehreren Führungskräften fehlte das nötige Wissen über kompetentes Auftreten sowie die erforderliche Fachkompetenz. Dies spiegelte sich auch im Umgang mit dem Personal wider: Mitarbeiter wurden vor den Hotelgästen zurechtgewiesen, was absolut inakzeptabel ist. Die Umgebung ist leider ziemlich ungepflegt. Das zeigt sich sowohl beim Ausblick aus dem Pool auf einen provisorischen Zaun als auch auf dem kompletten Weg vom Parkplatz zum Hotel, der unmadeled/nicht asphaltiert ist und im Dunkeln praktisch nicht beleuchtet wird. Leider ist das Frühstück sehr monoton.
