The hotel reeks of smoke smell!!!
Our room’s lock didn’t work, informed front desk before we left for day. They didn’t fix it. The toilet ran constantly and the soap dispenser had fallen off the shower wall prior to us getting there and they didn’t fix it before our check in.
One of the staff members didn’t know the difference between a double bed and a queen bed. Very disappointed overall.

I was warned by colleagues that this place was not-so-good, as many of the reasons-priced. Hotels in the area had become. But I was pleasantly surprised, and let my associates know!
It’s not a luxury hotel, but that’s not what I was looking for.

Some things to approve on. The high room deposit/incidentals.....no soap in room, not enough towels, asked for housekeeping was told they could not accomodate, toilet issues, fan non working in bathroom.

The front office staff is rude

I inadvertently booked a disabled access room, which was a little odd. Wish that had been in bolder font or something. The beds were super soft with no support for my poor old back. I was pretty sore in the morning. Other than that, the room was exceptionally clean, quiet & had most everything you could need.

It was fine for one day. The bed wasn't really comfortable and there was only one set of towels, but it was fine for one day.

The good is the hotel room was very clean. Staff was fine. Conveniently located. The bad is the hotel is under renovation, being that i basically am paying to sleep it would have been nice to know ahead of time, there was work going on and constant loud noises most of the night. The renovation in the rooms needs to be looked at minor details that catch customers eye, ceiling in bathroom peeling off, light switches and toilet seat old. Also the tv had a embedded black look on screen. Not sure if the other hotel choices in area are better or not, maybe when renovation is done will be better. Over all for price and location if you need a hotel in the area its fine

Hotel was disgusting. Lobby was shut down due to mold. I left and went to another hotel.

The room was pretty clean but the common areas, especially the elevator are dirty and worn.

Do not recommend. No room cleaning, no daily fresh towels. The breakfast area was closed. Was not told prior to booking. Don’t waste your money. Other better places to stay.

I enjoyed my stay at the Sonesta. The dining room was being renovated, it is an older hotel. My room was spotless. The staff was friendly and accompdating. I forgot a hairdryer and they found one for me. Sebastian was extremely helpful! I came in late Friday night because I was helping my daughter unpack a new house. I called ahead and he met me in the parking lot and walked me in. A few hours later. I had to leave for the airport at 2:30 am. He walked me back out so I wouldn't be out there alone. I will definitely stay there again!!

It was clean and actually quiet. Paying for bagels, coffee or muffins was disappointing...

The overall experience was okay. I paid extra for breakfast but was very disappointed when it was juice/ coffee & muffins or begal. No warm food. Every other hotel on my road trip has offered free Continental breakfast, I would of never paid extra for Begal n muffins. Management was not willing to refund me the cost of breakfast we didn't eat. Sonesta in Orange county had full buffet breakfast included. Free I may add!! That's what I thought I was paying extra for. At least the Room was nice & building was cool. Dont think I'll ever stay here again plus it was 30 minutes away from Boston & Salem which were my actual destinations. I had to buy breakfast every morning.

The bed was hard, a bit too hard. The bathroom tub had some mold on it in a few spots. Overall the room was clean. Glad it was just one night!

There was a dead mouse in the room. The hotel knew there were mice because they had glue traps but no one was checking them.
I called downstairs and they came to pick up the mouse. All I got was "oh sorry." Terrible experience.

Firstly, the restaurant that they promoted is not working. Also, Lowell the only thing historic about it is that they turned all their historic sites into apartment buildings.
Uncontrollable on their end - someone hit a fire hydrant and the water has been out of the building for hours — no compensation, but hey they let me have 3 8 Oz water bottles.
I would NEVER stay here again, the only redeeming quality is that their service is very kind. I should have gotten at least a discount on my stay being disruptive. Luckily the next hotel stated I could do an early check in at no cost. So we checked out early. Still out the money though.
Just not worth it, don’t stay here.

There were several issues with this hotel. First, there is an issue with odor---it smells greasy and dirty. I am not saying the hotel is unclean; it just doesn't smell clean.
When I got in my room both the a/c was blasting and the tv was on. I adjusted the temp by 1 degree and now hot air was blowing and I could not shut it off. The television had no sound but had a picture and found it could not be turned off (the remote worked). I went to the desk for help. I was dismissed. I was told that "maybe someone would stop by". No one did and I ended up unplugging both the heating unit and tv. (I was later told that there was no maintenance available on the weekends so I was never going to be helped.)
In the morning, there was no water. No water to flush a toilet, wash hands or brush teeth. I was told there was an accident involving a hydrant. I found nothing online. Considering there is no maintenance in the building on the weekend, I would point blame at the hotel, not an accident.

I will not stay here again! The carpets were dirty, dust and cobwebs in the room, all light switches were filthy. Poorly maintained establishment.

Room price was increased from what was listed on expedia in addition to tax and other charges. Tried to charge for parking and we did not have a car.

There could be better-lit signage for after-dark arrivers.

I was disappointed to learn there was no workout room (tho I was later told there was). No hair dryer or microwave and would be charged for parking which was not that close.

Great place to stay in Lowell. The price is reasonable with friendly staff. I really enjoyed my stay there and I highly recommend it.

Easy check in. Room was comfortable, but some attention to minor details lacking, e.g. chipped tub, scratches on furniture.

Very good location for all the things I wanted to do in Lowell.

The carpet in the elevator was filthy & smelled awful. Rooms were not as clean as I would have expected- shower was not clean at all.

A lot of construction was going on - no dining options on site

Under renovations they said from the floods. Restaurant was closed and services very limited.

When I booked the room, I made sure to ask for a room that pets weren’t allowed in because my fiancée & I are very allergic to animals but when we checked in, we were told there was no guarantee that our room did not previously have pets in it and that the hotel is “pet friendly”. We love animals but the hotel needs to be “people friendly” as well! Also, I booked a room here because the hotel has a fitness center but when I went to perform my normal workout this morning, I was disappointed to find that the elliptical machine was broken.

Free breakfast ie coffee did not exist

It was a decent stay. Wish they told me the hours of the pool when I checked in.
