Location and being pet friendly was great. The room was middle of the road at best. Everything is old and dated but it was very clean. Forget about watching TV and connecting anything to the internet. The internet prohibited us from watching anything for any length of time. Was in and out the whole trip and most channels did not come in at all. The internet is terrible. Bathroom fixtures were laminate and peeling in many places. Just three outlets in the whole room. After using refrigerator, microwave or coffee maker and two lamps there was two open holes (one did not work) to power two cell phones but nothing else. Next time it would be worth the step up somewhere else to get internet that worked, better furniture/fixtures and better parking. The staff was very friendly though and again was very pet friendly

I liked the location and the patio. Our room had a lot of room with a jacuzzi tub and a fireplace. I’d definitely stay here again.

Room was not very clean, very dusty, and the balcony smelled like marijuana so bad we couldn't even open the door. The trim around the baseboards was broken and coming off in several areas and the cords for the tv, phone and lamps were hanging all over. The parking garage leaked so bad during the rain we might as well have parked outside. We booked three nights but checked out after the first night and went somewhere else.

I paid almost 400 dirty shower/tub. I go down to a family members room they only paid 100 for and it has nice bathrooms, fireplaces. Clean

Front desk was great, walking distance to everything. Hotel is old and falling apart.. horrible housekeeping.

Love the place and how near everything was. Definitely worth the money.

The photos of the rooms on Expedia do not represent what the rooms actually are. They are old outdated stained carpeted rooms. It says newly renovated but it is not and is misrepresentation. The heating unit was making a terrible noise when I entered the room and had to be replaced. The staff blamed Expedia for not posting what the rooms actually are.

Quick check in, incredibly close to every thing. Clean rooms, super friendly and hospitable staff. I can’t stay enough good things about this place. Beautiful view and perfect spot to watch the fireworks from the space needle!

Negative not enough luggage carriers. No dead bolt on door.. our dog was able to get out of room! Scared us to death!! Positive… great area…very convenient.

This property needs a makeover. Old run down property. Good location. Staff was accommodating. Description stated breakfast for an extra charge which is misleading. Closest breakfast location is over a block away with long wait times. A simple continental breakfast with coffee, juice, pastries, cereal, and microwave breakfast biscuits on site should be available. Do not recommend and will not visit again.

We love the convenience to downtown.
The staff is very helpful.
Our room was very clean and we stay there because it’s pet-friendly. Our room was easy to access and parking was very close.
The only negative is that we couldn’t get WiFi the first day of our stay.

Location was great, right downtown gatlinburg.Rooms were very spacious..will definitely stay again

Walls are very thin, could hear the people next doors conversations. People next door had dogs that barked loudly at 6:30 am. The heat was either on or off. No way to control the temperature.
Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable of the area.

No continental breakfast or restaurant on premises. Water pressure was horrible. Bath tub was peeling and shower curtain only covers the middle of the tub.

We paid for an updated room and it still looked like from the 1970s. Walls are super thin to where u can hear the people in the next room. No breakfast no ice machines or vending machines didn’t even work

We booked River Terrace Resort because the price was great for a 4 night getaway and the location was excellent. We booked one the the cheapest rooms available (there is a big range), which puts you in an older unit with a lot of stairs to get to your room. We honestly didn't mind this too much. In fact, we LOVED the balcony view from the upper level. The staff was excellent and, overall, we were happy with our room, regardless of it's aged condition. The only issue we had was getting Ice. The front desk sent us to about three different ice machines among the many buildings on the resort, all which were out of service. In fact, the only ice machine in the whole resort we found working was right around the corner from the front desk at check-in. This did make it a hassle and a hike any time we needed ice. Otherwise, we had no issues.

Walkable to many shops and restaurants. Plenty of parking. We stayed in a "newly renovated" room but it still needed a few updates. The curtain rod above the balcony door wasn't securely attached to the wall. The shower curtain rod was loose as well. The vinyl floors were so dirty we had to wash our feet before we put on socks and shoes. We brought this to the attention of hotel staff and were told they use a spray on the floors to make them less slippery and unfortunately that spray attracts dust and dirt. Our room had a door to an adjoining room. There was probably carpet previously due to the gap under the door between rooms. The guests in the room next door were smoking cigarettes and weed and the smell was coming into our room from the under the door. We expected the pools to be closed due to the time of year but weren't aware the hotel restaurant was closed too. We did have to call the front desk for something and they delivered it to our room within minutes. Overall we did enjoy our stay.

Staff was very nice. The hotel room nice snd clean. The bed was very comfortable. Very roomy and spacious which I liked a lot. Other hotel rooms are usually smaller and more cramped. Close walking distance to everything. Will stay again.

We like the convenience and walkability of the property- close to downtown Gatlinburg. We mostly chose it because it is dog-friendly.

The finish on the tub was degraded. The mirror was damaged the sink was held up by a makeshift wooden leg. No Wi-Fi Balconies door was extremely hard to open. On a scale of 1-10. I give it a one step above an hourly rate room

Our stay was ok the room was nice and clean but not worth the extra money for the signature room. The view said river view and it was but from a distance. Parking garage needs some work dirty and leaks water in your car from ac units above and rain.

Really enjoyed this stay. The GPS directions were a bit off in the dark but once we found the office no issues. The room was clean and comfortable. Guest service was excellent. And location was great, you can walk anywhere from this place. Would definitely stay here again

Unfortunately this trip to River Terrace was the worst experience we have ever had. This location is on our list of routine places to stay, as we are in Gatlinburg about every two weeks. We checked into the hotel Friday evening around 6PM. As we started to carry our bags into the room 3326 we immediately noticed a dog barking non stop from the room below us. Trying to remove ourselves from hearing the dog all night I went back to office to ask for another room. They said they didn’t have any available, even though the website still showed plenty of vacancies. So from Friday evening until 8 AM Saturday the dog barked periodically about every 30/45 minutes. Saturday as we headed out to Knoxville to visit family and watch football game, I stopped at front desk to see if they could take us more towels at some point. Told them all the used towels were in pile by the door. Arrived back to room late Saturday night guess what no towels. So back to office to get our towels that we were told would be in room. Sunday after breakfast we noticed the room warm when we came back. I quickly figured out that the AC unit that by the way is mounted on the bathroom side of unit would freeze up if the temp was below 76 degrees. No big deal it was going to be cool that night in the mountains. We just opened balcony door and went to sleep. About 1 hr later we woke up to a room full of cigarette smoke being sucked in from the balconies beside us. Much more to post but out of characters here.

Our stay at the River Terrace Resort & Convention Center was extremely pleasant. Although our room was older and not upgraded, it was unbelievably clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with the toilet and it was promptly fixed. We would definitely stay here again! They are also pet friendly... Definitely a plus!!

The signage was confusing to find the property, Google took us to the Edgewater entrance, and there was a sign which said that the check in to River Crest was 100 Yards, but the check in was much farther away.
When we got to the room, I felt something sharp poke into my toe, it someone's toenail clipping.
Later, my sons feet turned black from walking on the carpet, which disturbed my wife a lot. The bathtub was too discolored for my family to feel safe using it.
While conveniently located, the property is outdated and not clean.

The bed was very firm and uncomfortable for us. The WI-FI didn’t work in our room and usually it wouldn’t matter but this time I had work to do. The only solution the lady at the front desk offered was to work in the lobby.
There were multiple bugs in our room (Palmetto Bugs) at least 5 that I saw. Appear to be getting in under the entrance door because there was an open gap under the door.
Huge plus was walking distance and we didn’t have to pay to park!

It would have been nice if we could have had new towels replaced while gone. The area was gorgeous at night and the view was great.
