Glasgow Youth Hostel

The hostel is perched above Kelvingrove park, a beautiful park at the doorstep. Easy walking distance (10-15 min) to University of Glasgow, Kelvingrove museum, bus stop, and Kelvinbridge Subway station. Pubs along Woodland road as well as a Sainsbury. The front desk staff seem to know everything that someone new to Glasgow would want to know. Our room was two singles with a private bath. Things were clean, comfortable and functional. A laundry washing machine issue was taken care of right away. The wee breakfast was as advertised and sufficient. It was self serve and you could eat as much as you would like. If I think hard enough I can conjure up one wish, that plain yogurt would have been available. Lots of flavoured yogurt to be had though. Be prepared to haul your luggage up three flights if your room is on the top floor. Building is beautiful. Great place. I will recommend to anyone heading to Glasgow. Spectacular location.

Quiet location closed to park

Clean room, great staffs, kitchen was clean. Location was good right at the west end. However, there was no elevator. People travelling with luggage’s is really difficult to carry them through the endless staircases to reach to the room. I would highly recommend all the hosteling Scotland's should have lift/elevator at least. Thanks

I was very late getting to the hostel because of a delayed flight, but Allie, the night porter was so welcoming and helpful, l enjoyed my very short stay! Likewise, Heather, who l had spoken to earlier to explain my late arrival was very sympathetic! I would highly recommend this accommodation!
