It’s cute, comfortable, and quiet. Looks to be newly remodeled. Everything worked well, roomy shower, decent wifi, plenty of tv channels, fridge and microwave. All the essentials.

It was okay not the best.. location wise it is good.No basic amenities..no coffee nor any breakfast.IT WOUKD HAVE BEEN GOOD KNOW WHO IS CHECK IN THERE WERE SOME DRUG ADICTS STAYED... MY SON WAS WORRIED.

Terrible experience. We received an “upgrade “ from queen to king. The garbage was still full from previous guest. Manager had to go in to set ac to warmer when we arrived because he said it wasn’t working right. Paint peeling off the ceiling, bathroom light seems to be from a warehouse and was installed sitting on top of the Sheetrock that appears to have been cut with a hammer. Hair found in the bed. Sheets were dingy. The porch light was like a midnight sun with no way to block it out or turn it off. Bed was rock hard with pillows to match. Overall an absolutely terrible experience and no manager in the morning to talk to when we checked out. I was directed to write it on their checkout spreadsheet. Photos included.

Small but perfectly comfortable bungalow style rooms. We were complimentary upgraded to a king bed room in newly renovated El Royale Gardens adjacent. Spare decor, but good where it counts: comfortable bed, nice bathroom, relatively quiet, and very walkable down to the more lively part of Ventura. Staff was friendly and helpful. Free parking in L.A. is also a nice perk.

Cool little place to stay, charming and quaint. The rooms are very simple and definitely older but have been updated and are very simple and modern. The room was clean, beds comfy, and staff were wonderful. This isn’t a big hotel full of amenities but it does the job and has a great location.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights as we had plans to enjoy a day at Universal Studios. We wanted something affordable for our vacation with no frills and we found it! Small quaint with super friendly staff. Very welcoming, I accidently showed up a little early and they were so kind. We allowed them to finish our room and came back in 30 mins to check in. You get a personal parking spot next to your room which also creates a barrier to other rooms, so our room was quiet, no neighbors could be heard. Lots of food choices nearby, a friendly Irish pub is across the street. If you're not okay with "420" then don't stay here, there is a dispensary next door, which is not the only located in the area as this is LA there are MANY along ventura blvd. I know some people will raise their nose to that. We felt right at home. Lyft and Uber were $8-10 to take to Universal. VERY clean room, I love being barefoot and my feet didnt turn black. In Terminator's voice" We'll be back"

Clean, comfortable room. They gave us a free room upgrade so they put us in the El Royal Gardens hotel instead of El Royal Hotel. Probably same ower. The room was small. Lovely shower. We loved the location being so close to Universal Studios.

The room was very clean and in perfect condition, and the staff was great as well.

The room was clean and cozy. There were a few cosmetic fixes and the bathroom fan didn’t work intermittently. But I like the cottage vibe and that I was able to park my car right in front of my room! The outside noise was very minimal. Overall, the place was comfortable and I would definitely stay there again. The workers were also very courteous and friendly.

We’ve stayed here before and came back because we had a great experience the first time! The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable. We were able to Uber to universal and then walk down to 7-11 for some snacks later in the evening so it was really convenient for us. We will definitely be back!

We loved staying at this charming motel! It was clean and updated, yet still had the charm of the old! The staff was so nice, they even called us on our check-in day to ask us what time we would arrive. Who needs big huge expensive hotels when you have something as charming as this place!

The hotel was very convenient for our trip to Universal Studios. The beds were a little bit too hard and there was a helicopter that was flying around. There was also a lot of street noise in the room that we had. What we did love was the spaciousness of the room and the shower was awesome. The bathroom was quite roomy.

If I could give this property 20 stars I would! Let’s start with the staff!! I have stayed at properties around the world and the staff at this hotel exceeded that of any 5 star resort.
Friendly is an understatement. The staff was beyond accommodating, the room itself was so clean. You can tell everyone on the staff loves working for this hotel just by their welcoming demeanor and warm smiles.
The room itself was comfortable. The property gives a vintage style with accommodating parking right outside your room. Literally about 8 minutes from universal studios without having to get on the freeway!
The area was safe and staff is at the hotel at all times.
Checkout was easy and the temperature in the room was easily controlled.
Lastly their bar body soap was heavenly (I wish I had taken an extra one home… it was that good). And I’m not a soap bar person.
Highly recommend this place for your stay!!! We’ll definitely be back!!!!

We attend Halloween Horror Nights every year and we always choose to stay at El Royale Hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and safe and is walking distance to Universal Studios. The owner/manager are friendly and welcoming, and service is always 10/10! We will continue to stay at this hotel every time we travel to Universal

We stayed here for one night after Universal Horror Nights. The staff was very helpful with arrangements for such a late arrival and parking. The whole place had a great vintage look on the outside, but inside our room was nicely updated. The bed was very comfortable and the AC kept it nice and cool. Only one thing to note, it took the hot water a few minutes to warm up…. Definitely not a complaint, just a comment so if you’re staying you know you may need to give it a bit, but it definitely gets nice and hot. 😊 I will definitely book again next time we visit the area!!

This hotel is very well located. Its close to Universal Studios and public transport. The rooms are very clean and comfy. They include a fridge and microwave which was useful. The reason I'm giving it such a great review is because of it's freindly staff that give you an excellent customer service. They we're really useful in giving me information on how to go around and about. Always smiling and nice!!!!
They also have reasonable prices for their rooms and parking is included.
Will be back, for sure, during my next visit to L.A.!!!!

Came here for Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. It’s close by about 15 mins walk uphill but we drove for 5 mins and paid for $30 general parking. The hotel itself is small. There’s 2 parts to the hotel, a new one and an older one. We stayed in the newer one that was renovated. The renovations were not done nicely and you can see the bad paint job and chips on the furniture and wall. The room was clean and safe. The staff are friendly but parking is limited. When we came home after 1am, we were lucky there was one other parking left. I do recommend this hotel but it’s nothing fancy.

Property had basic amenities and walking distance from the Universal trolly. Close to pharmacies and restaurants. The walls were thin so we could hear all the noises, including very loud crickets. Fortunately the neighbours and area were fairly quiet at night. Great option for the price!
