Pahaska Tepee Resort

Resort, not in modern times. This is Glamping; you get a room with clean bed(s), a minimal amount of outlets, and a bathroom. The on-prem restaurant is very good and stays open late for those in the park, guests pay the same rate as anyone else visiting. No tv, no a/c is many units, paper thin walls, no fridge on most units, and no ceiling fan, windows that lack locks, and WiFi signal possibly present but a small link for the entire site causes it to be useless most of the time. Given the geography, there is also no cell service in the area. The gas pumps at the site have been removed, fill up in Cody ahead of time. There are no EV chargers in the area, plan accordingly. It’s also the closest property to the East entrance. The above is to level set expectations, the cabin amenities are similar to those from the decades gone yonder. If you have food/drinks, bring a decent cooler. Make sure everything is sealed from smells, there are bears and bison in the area. They do provide a daily ice ration for guests. -1 for the paper thin walls between units and the outside. Would I stay again, probably. It’s a way to disconnect from modern times. Bring a portable fan and a white noise generator at the least to keep the rooms a bit more comfortable at night.

We have stayed multiple times, and each time the room was spotless, well stocked with towels. I have recently had back surgery and needed to elevate my position to avoid pain. I requested additional pillows and they sent 3 by courier immediately to the room. The reason I mention this is I made the same request at a Vegas hotel and the pillows never arrived after a week. The cafe staff are really nice and very pleasant to talk too. The meal was great as usual, so you never have to wonder what you're getting. We stay here because you can drive into the park in just a few minutes without having the huge cost of staying in the park, which is double. The drive into the park from Cody is the best way to enter the park and should be part of the park as the scenery is spectacular. We'll see you in October again, thanks!

So this is an older property, but it is clean and quiet and has character. The food was good and the staff was extremely helpful. I left something behind and they helped arrange for its return. Everyone I encountered was friendly as well. The main advantage of this property is its proximity to Yellowstone. It is on the east side, but that was actually an advantage as it is much quieter over there. I was also closer to bear territory. You are going to have to deal with distance and traffic no matter what in Yellowstone so why not stay someplace cheaper and quieter. I highly recommend and I will stay there again.
