I liked the old feel of the place. Not a modern cookie cutter place. It is out of the way for those on foot. Good restaurant downstairs.

Excellent stay for a quick drive to Boston Login Airport. An Elevator would have been nice but the staff offered to carry our bags. Great restaurant though! Staff friendly and accommodating. Only street parking nearby, but there’s a very small parking lot a block away.

The room was rundown and odd. The towels were thin and threadbare. There was no bar soap in the room and a half broken towel rack in the bathroom. The view out the window was the air conditioning unit; this at a sea-side inn during the off-season

Quaint hotel with recent upgrades. The restaurant was ok, but the service was on the slow side. No bath soap or body wash was supplied.

The restaurant is excellent and the bar friendly and loud at times. The hotel room are being remodeled, but we’re clean and nice.

Nice location and the building was in good shape. My room had a coffee machine but not coffee cups or water glasses.

This was a disappointing experience. When we arrived there was construction on the street and no where to park. She apologized but offered no assistance. It was raining and we had to carry bags over torn up sidewalk & mud and then through restaurant and up stairs. I didn't see any staff again ever. We checked out at 8 am and there was no one around so we left front door key on the desk. No wash clothes in the room. Just very disappointed

This is a really cute hotel in outskirts of Boston. Getting there from out of state is a task. Traffic is horrendous. Parking at the hotel was really good until the night before our exit. We had to request help from the valet. The parking area is close enough, but was being pressure washed the 2nd day we were there, they got mud all over my freshly washed car, we were headed to a wedding. The room was surface clean, but could use a once a month of dusting and cleaning the blinds. Our sink was clogged, and wouldn’t go down easily. There’s construction on the 3rd floor, it was noisy at 8am. I understand progress, but let me as a consumer choose if I want to be up on my day off at 8. There were only 2 light bulbs in the bathroom vanity, easy fus fix. I read that in another person’s review- assumed that would have been addressed. Maybe we were in different rooms. No wash cloths the first day, and no one in sight until the restaurant opens. We had a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant. The clam chowder was really delicious and our server was nice. The area is really nice and you can walk the paved path along the ocean. If you appreciate the ocean you can find some nice shells along the rocky beach. The ocean smell In Massachusetts is different than that of the south. Much stronger. Overall, our stay went well, the hotel was pretty, and not near Logan’s immediate congestion once you get there. It’s about an hour and ten minutes from Kittery, Maine. It was a beautiful drive

Room was comfortable, but despite remodel it was dated. Cleanliness was marginal. Staff was excellent. Restaurant was great. Parking easy and free.

My stay at Winthrop Arms Hotel started off well, but unfortunately, it took a turn for the worse. The construction noise that began early in the morning, around 7:30-8AM, disturbed my sleep and significantly impacted my overall experience. Despite my efforts to seek compensation, both Hotels.com and the hotel itself failed to provide any resolution or refund. Moreover, the manager I spoke with was aggressive, calling me a liar and blaming me for not being aware of the ongoing construction despite no prior notice given. I cannot recommend Winthrop Arms Hotel due to the disruptive construction and the unprofessional behavior of its management. In summary, my stay at Winthrop Arms Hotel was initially pleasant, but it quickly turned sour. The early morning construction noise disturbed my sleep, and despite my attempts to resolve the issue and receive compensation, both Hotels.com and the hotel were unresponsive. The manager I spoke with was confrontational, accusing me of being ignorant and blaming me for the inconvenience. Considering the disruptive construction and the unprofessional attitude of the hotel's management, I highly advise against choosing Winthrop Arms Hotel for your stay.

Located in a quiet little suburb of Boston this hotel has old world charm. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room and view of the ocean was gorgeous. The beds were a dream and I slept better than any hotel mattress ever. There is limited dining options in Winthrop but the hotel itself has a restaurant and bar on the first floor. It was also located close to a lovely breakfast cafe. The bus line was easy to access and takes you right to the blue line. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

We would not have booked this property had we known that this floor was under re-model. The third floor was a construction zone. The room was in poor condition, stained carpet, broken window shades. A used toothbrush left in the cabinet by a previous guest.

Hidden gem across the street from the ocean and the restaurant is tremendous!

This charming hotel was located just out of the city in a residential neighborhood facing the ocean (rooms with views). It gave us an opportunity to enjoy the sites of Boston with all the noise and people but then return to a quiet retreat. As a walker, I did not find the 1.3 walk to the T station an issue. The area is very safe with great views of the ocean along the way. We enjoyed an excellent meal in the hotel dining room while sitting outside on the deck. I wish I had found this gem of a hotel earlier in Boston travels.

I had a good time nice room with a comfortable bed and a walk in shower with a strong draw. The only thing l had a problem with was the T.V set that kept cutting off and it was hard to tune into regular cable channels.

Beautiful woodwork.. nice, pleasant staff. Bad room.. dark, gloomy, window wouldn't close completely because of a tube sticking out.. no screen or anything. Terrible view. Window is right next to the air conditioner. We didn't stay here.

Check-in was easy even though I got in around 8pm. The bartender gave me a great recommendation for a late night dinner.

Food was great! (Doc chicken pot pie) Hotel is clean and rooms are big. Had a view of the ocean (room 208). Parking is on the street but there was enough to manage. Would come back if in the area again.

Had a very nice stay during a most troubling time for the family. It was nice to have food access available & we were allowed to eat as we chose to, making things even easier. Room was perfect for what we needed, and the location couldn't have been better during all of this!

Great stay overall. Room was nice, but could use a microwave! Also no elevator, but we were aware of this in advance, but still presented a challenge when traveling with the family and a decent amount of luggage to bring in. Love the restaurant, food was delicious, great craft brews to choose from, and the staff was great. However parking was very limited in the evenings due the restaurant. Even with the a parking pass, the facility used its small parking lot for valet parking for guests coming to eat at the restaurant, so keep this in mind if you plan on going out in the evening, you will very likely have to park a block or two away and walk back to the hotel.

The property is very well maintained and the room was very clean. Nice details in the hotel and our room with what appeared to be the original trim/mouldings the early 1900's. We had a view of the water. The staff was very accommodating as we needed an early check-in for a wedding. Options for lodging are limited in Winthrop and thankfully the Arms is available. Definitely not a hotel chain franchise. We will return as we have a number of family in Winthrop.

The views were awesome and great location!! The restaurant was cozy and food outstanding!! Don’t forget to take home your Doc’s chicken pot pie!!!

The location to get to the airport was good. the place felt dated. The room felt shabby. Poor lighting, wires all over for the tv with the box sitting over on some side table. The blinds on the windows were broken. The furnishings felt dated. Not a pleasant feeling; run down.

I will say I had my doubts on this property when we first arrived but that all went away as soon as we checked in. A little different than say a chain hotel but it was clean and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Being on the second floor and having to carry our big suitcases up was not even a challenge as the owner came and grabbed our suitcases and took them all the way to our room for us. His restaurant was busy as all get out and for him to take time to help us get our bags up the stairs was awesome. We had dinner in the restaurant the next night and it was amazing food and great portions as well. You certainly do not go hungry in this restaurant. An easy walk to the beach as well. If I had to say anything bad about this place is parking is tight but they offer free valet service to help with the parking. If I ever come back to the area I will totally stay here again!
