Very stylish hotel in the heart of Istanbul. Walking distance to many famous spots including galata tower. The staff was very helpful and accomodating and lenient with late checkout. I will def stay here again.

I booked a suite, but it was seriously over priced. Room was inconvenient, unnecessarily decorated , living area was full of furniture bit difficult to walk .

Friendly staff at Sofitel upgraded us to a better room

We had a lovely stay at the Sofitel Taksim. All the staff were very helpful and courteous. We would like to especially thank Kaan (concierge) for great recommendations. He is very knowledgeable and a great asset to Sofitel.

I travel frequently and this property is definitely not a 5 star. Upon arrival Arman at front desk checked us in. I let him know that we were staying there for our 5th year anniversary and he told us that the hotel had upgraded us to a “Luxury suite”. We were pleased and I gave him $20 American Dollars tip as our appreciation which is a lot of money in Turkey. Upon walking in the room, we looked out at we literally had the view of a sling dog building’s roof. I have a picture which I can’t post here. We complained and were told that currently they were sold out and for us to wait a day. My lady checked online and noticed all types of rooms were still available which means they lied. Next day I kept calling Arman and he kept brushing me off so I went to front desk and asked for the manager and after waiting about 7 minutes Salim came out and I expressed my concern, he rolled his eyes and said but we have you the luxury room and I showed him a picture of our view and said that is luxury about this. Anyways he didn’t do anything g for us and made us keep the same ugly room. I have stayed in Sofitel at several countries. Issue is not the hotel it’s its employees they have there. Arman and Salim need to work at a motel not Sofitel.

Everything was perfect

I highly recommend not staying at this property. They lack customer service and are rude to their guest. I had an issue with guest service walking into my room as I’m naked and when Im yelling at the guy to get out he’s still there talking to me. I went to the front desk to let them know and they said they follow up never did when I brought it up again they had forgotten and nothing was ever resolved

Service for a 5 star hotel was really bad. At breakfast they run out of basics like bread and yoghurt. Orange juice is artificial. Not 5 star standards at all.

Great hotel at center of Taksim. Staff were friendly and attentive to all requests. I got a free upgrade to a suite. Overall highly recommended 👍

Fantastic hotel very clean , very hospital and friendly staff, accommodated our extension and kept us in same room making us stay a whole week instead of only two nights. Will definitely be back. Concierge team and reception front desk manager Mr Atil have been great making our stay best. Spa was great Joanna gave us best massage and Turkish bath

Possibly one of the best locations - the hotel is literally ON Taksim Square. 10 steps from Istiklal Street, a gazillion food & cafe options. 3 mins walk from the Metro and Tram as well. Very convenient location.

Amazing friendly staff, clean suites & luxury king room was also spacious Right in the center of taksim square 15min walk to grand bazaar 30min drive to Hafida Sofia & blue mosque

New hotel in a fantastic location. Ultimately, could have been a really wonderful experience were it not for the PATHETIC service. From the Managers to the breakfast staff, just a really poor experience. Some complaints: 1. Service at Breakfast is the worst I've ever experienced. 3-star quality 2. Managers are rude and unhelpful 3. Porters and Security are rude and unhelpful The location and rooms are very nice. The service makes you want to book elsewhere.

This hotel is in a great location and all of the physical aspects are good -- clean, spacious rooms, great location, etc. Everything you'd expect from a Sofitel. However, the service was among the worst I've experienced in many years at a top hotel. The spa was anything but relaxing, and some of the staff there were exceptionally rude; the massage in particular was just awful. Our room was without toilet paper for 24 hours, and multiple calls to the front desk seemed to make no difference. The bell desk rarely had a person staffing it, so we were often left to deal with our own luggage. There are many other excellent hotels in the Taksim Square area, and I'd recommend going with one of those over Sofitel.

My colleague worried it would be noisy because it is located near Taksim square. But my room was so quite and nice. The location was also good. Especially Dilan, the receptionist was very kind. She remembered my name and say hello and made small talks whenever we meet.

The hotel have the best location, i didn't actually use any of their service. I booked the luxury room. The hotel was clean. You dont see any bad things inside like othet hotels where you have tons og girls going in and out.

Location is excellent. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Interesting to note : “superior rooms” are all on the basement level. I didn’t like those as there was no light and felt like is not part of the main hotel. We paid extra to upgrade to the “luxury rooms” which are front facing. Don’t choose superior. Overall a good experience and special mention of John Murphy for his excellent service.

Amazing location. A great starting point whether you need to go to major tourist attractions like Aya Sofia, Grand Bazaar etc. or want to enjoy shopping in Malls which are all nearby by cab, within 10-20min depending on traffic. You will never face any issues finding a cab in this area which is a big plus point. And literally outside the main entrance starts the busiest shopping street there is, Istiklal street. Having shops open until late midnight every day and restaurants/cafés until 3am. As far as the hotel standard is concerned, you won't get any better hotel than this in the area. The hotel is newly built (2019) so everything is very fresh and having very good international standards. Breakfast buffet was not the biggest, but you will find all you need to get your day going. We chose to eat breakfast on many of the restaurants outside the hotel at Istiklal Street which was great. The hotel service was excellent. A special thanks to Utku Sen in the reception who was very friendly and helpful with all our requests. I will definitely chose Sofitel Taksim next time I visit Istanbul.

I loved my stay at this hotel, I booked a room for me and my girlfriend, but when we arrived the guests had not still checkd out and they were short on rooms, the very friendly receptionist after consulting with his colleague upgraded us to a very beautiful suite, truly lovely and great view, We really enjoyed our stay here and they have our thanks for that. This lead to a funny incident becuase I guess he had not marked the room full in the system and some poor guy had a panic attack when he opened the door and walked in all of a sudden, but thats just an accident and we laughed about it. The shower system was perfect, from dubai to phuket to Paris I have never seen a system this dialed in that I could arrnage the temperature of the water that easily. All and all I have been to most of the hotels in Taksim area and none of them are as wholesome and friendly and equipped as this one.
