We've stayed at this house twice in the past, and it has gone downhill since being taken over by Vacasa. While the location is wonderful and the hot tub is a really nice bonus, the house needs a lot of updating. The linens are threadbare, and the sheets don't fit the beds properly and pop off the corners while sleeping. The pillows are old and completely flat and need to be replaced. And the kitchen is missing many necessary items that it used to have in the past. The check out time of 10am is much too early and results in a very rushed end to an otherwise lovely beach weekend. We were sent an email on the day of check in offering an extended check out for a significant extra fee, so clearly the early check out time is not necessary to clean and flip the property for the next guests and the early check out is being used to make more money for the rental company. We will not be staying at this property again unless it gets the updates it needs and the check out policy is revised.

Super close to the beach, we stayed as 3 family with young kids and dogs and it was a great space for all of us to hang out and each family having their own rooms.

We booked last minute for Christmas on the beach. This house had plenty of room for our 9 people. The pool table Was a hit. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but was comfortable and had everything we needed for a memorable Christmas.

We enjoyed our stay. The house is in a good location. Plenty of space. Teens enjoyed the game loft and clean hot tub. The only issue I have are the non microwaveable dinnerwares, the cooking pots are too old and the knives are all dull. And the beddings are a dated. We still stay here again but I’ll probably bring my own knives and maybe my own sheets.

We slept 10 comfortably and enjoyed all the amenities--hot tub, pool table, fully equipped kitchen. The beach was just steps away and very clean and quiet! Manzanita is a great place to stay with shops and restaurants a short drive away. Our only feedback for the vacation rental would be to provide more backup essentials like toilet paper, dish soap, and paper towels.

A beautiful house but some things really detracted from the overall experience.The pots and pans were in poor condition. Many of the towels were threadbare. The soap dispensers were watered down. The one roll of cheap papertowels provided was the topic of many bad jokes during our stay. The beds were marginal at best. One guest chose to sleep on a futton instead of the squeaky bed.The $135 cleaning fee was ridiculous. We cleaned all the dishes before using them and the floors were very sandy upon our arrival. The toilets and sinks were clean however.The pool table surface looked as if it had not been cleaned in years.The owners of this beautiful house would be well served to update the beds and hire a better cleaning service and to either include the hundreds of dollars in fees charged in the base price or eliminate them.

A group of my friends and I stayed at the Chinook house for the weekend and had a great time together. The house is comfortable and sleeps 10 people. A little too crowded for any more. Things were clean and tidy and the hot tub was great after hiking or swimming in the freezing cold ocean. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off sand.The downstairs garage area smelled a bit.

All was well. 4 stars for condition & clealiness because have seen better from this rental agency. I chalk this up to being a Sunday ending the the 4th of July week end when they were literally slammed with people leaving. Cleaners had to rush to get through them all.

Chinook House is my favorite property of the many vacation homes I've rented in Manzanita over the past 12 years. The house is big, comfortable, has a great layouts, fabulous amenities, nice view, and excellent beach access. Perfect for a group of friends or families, and we appreciated that it is dog-friendly. We'll definitely be staying here again!

Chinook House is the best value & best equipped gathering place for a large multi generational group that I've found in Manzanita. It is also dog friendly, important to our family. We've stayed here many times. Location close to the beach is a bonus. A bigger, comfortable, sectional sofa would be nice for a house that sleeps 16. Also the only thing missing from the house this time was the step to the hot tub. If you have a large group keep in mind that 4 of the beds are in open areas of the house. I look forward to renting this house every summer & spending quality time with family! Reserve early though. This house is very popular.

Comfortable, well equipped home but the oven was broke ( I was informed of that a few days before renting) and we made due. light bulbs were out, and the glass water pitcher was cracked and broke.

Eight adults came to the Oregon Coast and Chinook House to celebrate a milestone birthday. It was a wonderful place to stay, with the open kitchen, dining and living areas. And having the pool and foosball tables and hot tub at the house made it ideal for a group of people to get maximum enjoyment! We were particularly pleased with how well the kitchen was equipped, with every utensil we could need. My only complaint was with the second bedroom downstairs. Having just a double bed in that room made it uncomfortable for a married couple. If that was upgraded to a queen bed, the house would have been perfect!

Enjoyed the town and quietness of Manzanita. Our experience with the rental company was good. They were very easy to work with. We found the house itself to be very tired and in need of an update. The size, location, and amenities were great, but furniture was worn. Carpet needs a good cleaning and the linens on the beds were beyond their useful life. Sheets rough and stained, worn dirty comforter, etc. House would be perfect with some attention to detail !

Great stay for the second year in a row. I love this house for a group of friends with our dogs. Perfect location. And the rental staff is so helpful! While there I lost an item that was meaningful to me. I called when I returned to Portland after realizing I had lost it and the staff went out of their way to find it (on the driveway!) and mail it to me!

Great week long getaway with the family! The house is set up nice for multiple families. Enjoyed the pool table and hot tub! It’s a very short walk to the beach. It was our first time staying in Manzanita and would definitely come back. The staff at Sunset Vacation Rentals were great to work with.

He had a great stay in this awesome house! We comfortably fit three young families and enjoyed all of the amenities the house offers. The house was kid friendly, had a good functional kitchen, plenty of gathering space, and a very open feel. Good views from deck and game room, and a great hot tub. Easy walk to beach and close to town/golf. I would highly recommend this vacation rental.

I have stayed at the Chinook house for a weekend each of the past 3 years, and will definitely go back. It is always clean and well-maintained, with the exception that the hot-tub was not hot until the second day of my group's stay. We'd really have liked to use it the first night; other than that, the house was GREAT!!

I'm reluctant to give this beach rental the glowing review that it deserves because if too many people to know about it, I might have difficulty renting it again. But, to be honest, the Chinook home was the perfect place for our family vacation. The facilities were contemporary and well maintained, and the layout ideal. Two lower level bedrooms, each with a large, comfortable bed for the parents and bunk beds for two children were just right for two families. And the main floor has a huge master bedroom for us older folks and another room with a queen bed for a second couple. We slept 12 comfortably. Beyond that, I suppose you would have to use the futon in the downstairs game room and the other one in the upstairs loft with the pool table to accommodate the listed 16 person limit.The owners of this home obviously take pride in keeping it current and well stocked. And the pool table, foosball table and miscellaneous games kept our younger crowd entertained for hours.This home is a step above the usual vacation rental. We have found our new beach retreat!!

In light of the price paid for the rental, the cooking and eating equipment should be much better, for example, the knives are not sharp and the wine glasses appear to be a thrift store hodge podge. In addition the games and puzzles in the game cupboards were totally jumbled and some apparently incomplete...perhaps there could be a better system for managing what is there. We straightened up some of them as best we could.Paper towels need to be provided in the kitchen and the hot tub should be part of the rental rather than a separate additional charge. We left those spaces as clean and tidy as we found them.

It was the best equipped kitchen that we had ever seen in a rental. The top bunk was very shaky for our little kids, but otherwise beds were great. The tile in the kitchen was not as clean as it could have been--we noticed as our sock got really dirty. Everything else was fine. We left a note that the downstairs bathroom tub was barely draining just so you know. Thanks
