We were excited even before arriving for this property! The house is well stocked with essentials/staples in the kitchen. There are plenty of dishes and cookware. Tons of towels, blankets, pillows. All of these extra touches make traveling so much more enjoyable. Then there's the game room and the house itself. Even sharing a room, the 3 kids loved the bunk beds. They played ALL the games! The adults even got in on ping pong! When we weren't out adventuring, the kids were in the game room or on the porch. And let's talk about the wrap around porch! Amazing views, multiple fire pits to enjoy morning coffee on a chilly morning or make smores after a long day of adventuring. We made great use of the grill out there too. And we utilized the kayaks and spent a day paddling the reservoir. The house is laid out so thoughtfully. The spaces are well appointed. The decor is perfect. We all felt so comfortable. Logistically, the house is in a wonderful spot. You're about 6 minutes from the town of Dolores with a little market, gas, outdoor store, and more. The food at Montezuma's was outstanding. We even caught the Wednesday afternoon farmer's market and the kids bought all kind of local goodies! In the opposite direction is the slightly larger town of Cortez. Mesa Verde NP is under an hour to the actual cliff dwellings. The reservoir is 5 min away for fishing, paddling, swimming... We will absolutely return and so look forward to staying again.

The house was so spacious and beautiful. We'll definitely stay here again if our travels bring us to the area. The house was perfect and very clean. The property manager would check in via text sometimes just to make sure everything was okay with our stay. It's in a perfect location for Mesa Verde National Park and Durango.

A beautiful Home. Roomy with a great view of the mountains. The only sounds was that of the the nearby stream and the occasional Magpie. We also saw deer in the yard in the early morning hours. I have no complaints. We had a wonderful time in a beautiful home.

Our family of 4 absolutely loved our week at the Dolores Ranch House. The hosts could not have been more welcoming, accessible or accommodating- even arranging for the driveway to get plowed in a late march snowstorm so we could get in/out. This home is very peaceful and really embodies the SW Colorado spirit. Large windows showcase the surrounding mountains and sunrise perfectly. We had everything we needed there and even the little things like lots of blankets and pillows and chargers. Our boys loved the garage game room. It was the perfect location also. We did telluride skiing, arches natl park and mesa verde natl park during our time there. We're home now but all 4 of us already miss the Dolores Ranch House. We hope to come back!

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Dolores Ranch House. The house was very well situated for a relaxing getaway and the accommodations lack nothing!

This large ranch-style home is the perfect place for a family retreat. The house was immaculate, and well-appointed. Too often vacation rentals are lacking enough necessities such as plates, utensils, glasses, etc. This home has everything a large family would ever need. Both the host and property manager went out of their way to make sure our stay was top notch. Unfortunately we were in town for a funeral and it was a very difficult weekend. However, this vacation rental made that touch weekend easier. Thank you for such a wonderful peaceful place to stay. We will be back!

The property is immaculate and was perfect for our family vacation. The kids loved exploring the trails on the property, and adults love the wraparound deck which allowed for beautiful mountain sunset views. The property owners thought of everything… the house is well stocked and well supplied. Also a perfect hub to visit Mesa Verde, Durango and Telluride. Couldn’t ask for a better experience… we will be coming back!

This place is awesome for a larger family or family/in-law setup! We stayed here to attend a wedding in the Rico area and are so glad we did! The location is great, minutes from Dolores and Cortez (we loved The Farm Bistro in Cortez and Mi Tequila in Dolores for eating out). The property manager and owner were both so responsive and helpful! Constant text communication prior to arrival and when we had any questions. I think this is the most accommodating Vrbo host I have ever interacted with! This house is great for kids, we traveled with a two and three year old. The game room was a hit with the toddlers and the adults. The washer and dryer work very well (we ran four loads of kid things). Highly recommend the Dolores Playground for toddlers to bigger kids! The house is extremely clean, well equipped, well stocked. The views are from the living room and porch are even better than the pictures look! The kitchen is larger than pictures give it credit for. Plenty of parking for anyone that is staying or visiting. Would recommend this house to friends and family! Thank you Shannon and David!!

We (two families of 4) booked the ranch for 3 nights while in the area to attend a wedding in Cortez, CO next door. Everybody had a blast from the moment we entered the house! Kids (all between 5 and 8yo) enjoyed A LOT spending their time in the play room, so much to do in there! The adults also liked it because we could have the kids watch their cartoons there in the morning (instead of the living room) while we would sleep in. When the kids were in bed, the adults enjoyed sitting around the fire table on the porch while sipping wine or bourbon. We also took advantage of the BBQ for daily grilling sessions! There are a few trails around the property. We went on excursions with the kids during the day, and at night some of us would go to sit on the bench at the end of the main (short) trail behind the house to start gaze. The single thing that was not “perfect” for us was the check out time. We find check outs at 10am a bit early. Other than that, lovely property, great time at DRH, we would definitely go back.

We have stayed in dozens of vacation rentals, and this was among the best. Great communication with owners, extremely well stocked with essentials, high end appliances, and a fun game room. This place had it all! Highly recommend when staying in the area.

My family of 7 just completed our stay at this property and we were blown away. Every aspect of the home was top notch. From the high end appliances in the kitchen to the Weber Genesis Gas Grill and Traeger Smoker on the wraparound deck. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with anything you could need. Clean is an understatement as the home looked brand new. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the gameroom on a nightly basis and it was nice to be able to take mini morning hikes on the trail located right on the property. Over the years we have stayed in dozens of rental properties and this one is far and away the nicest. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay at the DRH. From booking to closing the process was seamless. The house lives up to the hype, and the extra amenities like the book about the home and area, the swag with local lotion and sunscreen, and little things like band-aids and kitchen pantry were all very helpful. I’d highly recommend for your stay in the area. One of the best if not the best VRBOs I’ve stayed in. Thank you!

This property was perfect for our adventure to SW Colorado. While us guys were able to access hunting ground a short distance away, my wife, mother and children had a comfortable and peaceful place to relax and call home for the week in between day adventures. Wildlife running through the yard made it feel even more secluded. The owners were more than accommodating and I would highly recommend a stay at the Dolores Ranch House!

The kids especially loved the game room garage, but the adults had their fair share of fun there too. We planned to take the kayaks out but needed 2 extras and had to figure out how to get them to the reservoir. We talked with the owner and he ended up buying an additional kayak that he borrowed to us as well as borrowing his new trailer to haul them all in! Pretty amazing! So we just rented on at the outfitters in town. We put them in at the House Creek (off of Fs 528 road). This was a great place to kayak. We jumped off some rock cliffs which was pretty fun! The owners were so kind and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. Hope to stay again in the future!
