SOKI Kanazawa

This is one of those rare hotels where the photos don’t do it justice. As soon as you step in you feel relaxed with the sound of running water and the smell of wood shavings. Beautiful rooms with very comfortable beds and soft lighting. Perfect location with easy walking distance to all the main attractions of Kanazawa, and opposite the Omicho market for all your breakfast/lunch needs. The onsen was a very welcome relaxation after long days of walking. But most importantly is the staff, we were travelling with our young baby and had the loveliest interactions with all the staff, but especially Nana who went above and beyond in making us and our baby feel welcome. Also great value for money- highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Kanazawa

Nothing, everything was great

A really gorgeous hotel, modern but still traditional in style. The room was very comfortable and nicely appointed, and super clean. Easy walking distance from the train station, and shops and restaurants. We loved the wagashi and tea on check in, and the onsen was fantastic, we used it every day of our stay. Breakfast and dinner at Sorasio were phenomenal. Staff were lovely and friendly too, and very helpful.

Amazing traditional Japanese breakfast! For kids 12 and under staying for free, they gave them rice and soup, which was nice. For our family, there was enough food for the adults to share with the kids, but you can add breakfast for the kids if you want more food. The hotel aesthetic is a nice blend of modern and traditional. They provided pajamas and sandals for use when visiting their onsen, just like traditional onsen ryokans (which I didn't expect). Location is fantastic: it's right across the street from the Omicho market and walking distance to the north entrance to the Kanazawa castle park. It's also near the loop bus stop. Staff was friendly and helpful, they helped us book taxis ahead of time.

Our stay at Soki Hotel was a bit disappointing. The biggest issue was the bathroom. There was a bad smell, and every now and then it would come back up from the drain. After using the toilet, the smell would come in waves and it got so bad I couldn't sleep. The shower area also had a musty smell, like damp clothes that hadn't dried properly. Hope the hotel can look into the drainage and ventilation, and check the air con. If those get fixed, it would be a much more comfortable stay.
