Américas Granada Hotel

This was the second time I have stayed at this property. It's a nice, clean, decent hotel with a friendly professional staff, very good breakfast and a great rooftop pool with wonderful city views. It is also located within a couple blocks of many restaurants, bars, supermarkets, bakeries, or anything else you would probably want. Lastly, it's in a very good location relatively close to both of Rio's airports. I will be happy to stay there again the next time I fly into Rio.

This must have been a wonderful hotel when it's was new. It's still nice but a little dated and would definately benefit from a refurbishment. I booked a Standard Double Room again (Room 209) but it was not nearly as nice as the one I had last time on the 8th floor (which must have been an upgrade that they didn't mention). This one was borderline acceptable. It was clean but the bed was two twins pushed together, both of which were older and sunken-in in the middle. Two of the lights in the room flickered (fortunately, there were plenty of other good lights, so I left those two off). The AC worked OK but, the remote was old and dirty looking and only turned it on and off. It did work but, I would have preferred if it was a little cooler in the room. The room was bearable, but only for one night.

Clean, decent hotel, not too far from Rio GIG Airport with comfortable beds, good pillows, good AC, ok breakfast, and friendly competent staff, with a pool and great view on the roof.

Very long lines at reception to check in and out as well as slow elevators.

The room was spacious, and the shower got nice and hot with very satisfying water pressure. The room was well lit, and we had a nice view. There is also the option to store your luggage for free before and after your stay. If you want to explore Lapa, the location is very good. We felt safe in the area and the hotel.

The duvet was rather disgusting. It appeared to be used and quite worn out, most likely made of 100% polyester, and there was no cover around it. There was only a single sheet on top, so you had to decide whether to use it over or under the duvet - forcing you to touch it directly in some way. Our room faced the street and was quite noisy on Friday and throughout the weekend. The breakfast was generous, but the food was very fatty and rather heavy. The internet was also quite slow and disconnected our devices every now and then. The staff speaks rather bad english - other than the Bell-boy.

the price is good, the breakfast is included.

the staff was not very helpful, the restaurant service was not the best. the room was not cleaned properly and did not feel safe at the hotel.
