Fawsley Hall Hotel

The hotel was lovely as the grounds & building were stunning. The room was very clean & the bed was very comfy. The facilities provided were great. All the staff were very friendly & helpful. The breakfast was really nice & plentiful.

The evening meal was a little disappointing. The staff were excellent but the food was not as described on the menu. I ordered Chicken Supreme which I believe is Chicken in a creamy sauce but I was served basically roast chicken & gravy. It was tasty but not what I was expecting. My partner ordered a Knickerbocker Glory & this came in a dish so not as described. I ordered 3 scoops of icecream which was £9 so I thought this seemed expensive.

I was unhappy that I was forced to pay £50 extra because the hotel didn’t have a type of twin room available which I had booked on booking.com

I have been to Fawsley Hall 4 times now and it only gets better, the customer service is amazing, the staff can’t do enough for you! I love the old character and feel of the whole place. The food was amazing!

There isn’t anything that I don’t like other than the main pool could be slightly warmer.

The hotel is well located for what we wanted to do and see. The room was comfortable. The matress was softer than usual hotels these days. The breakfasts were excellent. The dinner choice is limited but what we had was generally good.

The room decor was dowdy and the furniture peculiarly old and not very functional. A drop down desk had supports that wouldn't come out of the desk. The bathroom was good and well done. The hall carpet was dirty, desperately in need of a good hoovering that didn't happen while we were there. The hotel gave me the general impression that it was run on a shoestring. We paid full price but I noticed the day before we arrived, they were offering 30% discounts. The hotel lacked the elegance one expects in hand picked hotels, and our fellow guests appeared in the dining room dressed very, very casually. Perhaps this is modern culture but it sure does cut through the elegance of an evening. I didn't use the spa, but I would have liked to swim. The swimming pool is one meter deep. Women were using it to walk through. Ridiculous. You can't swim in a one meter deep pool.
