Pen's Bungalow Koh Phangan

Ein tolles Resort, mit kleinen Zimmern, die alles haben. Es liegt direkt am Strand, welcher sehr schön ist und auch zum baden geeignet. Der Pool ist super,auch am Abend ist baden möglich. Der Ort ist klein, hat einige gute Restaurants. Mit den Roller schnell im Nachbarsort.

Leider fehlt die Liebe zum Detail. Die Strandliegen bleiben auch bei Regen draussen, sind von den Hunden angefressen und auch der Abfall oder das Bestellte bleibt einfach auf den Tischen. Die Putzfeen machen einen tollen Job. Die Strassenhunde sind zahlreich da und übernehmen auch den Vorplatz des Bungalows-einer war sehr aggressiv, hat in die Hand gebissen und den Zutritt zum Zimmer verweigert mit Knurren und Zähnefletschen.

Beautiful beach. We had a beachfront villa. Appreciated the earlier check in. Dined here the first evening and food was delicious. Our waiter (Joor?) was so lovely! The cleaning staff were lovely also. Kids loved the pool. Was great to have Netflix to stream to. We hired a long tail and our skipper was great, took us snorkeling and stopped at Bottle Beach for lunch. Ate at Mama Rocky’s the next two evenings which had fabulous service and food and were very welcoming. 7/11 across the road was handy.

Our stay started with a grouchy driver who rally drove us to Pens. The staff (apart from the few I mentioned above) need to work on their people skills. The Grandmother who manages the place was slightly intimidating, unwelcoming and seemed to have no time for Farangs (foreigners) I went up to compliment the dinner from the night before and hadn’t finished talking when she just answered her cellphone and then just asks if I’ve finished talking. Well, I hadn’t. I also came to ask for clean bedding. We checked in the day before and by the time we got to bed (9pm) the office was closed.. my sheets did not look or feel clean and the mattress protector had old blood stains on it that you could see through the threadbare sheets. I slept on my sarong that night. They did change the bedding on request, but the manager made a big deal trying to see stains etc. all the bedding in our room and second kids room had multiple stains. No one wants a reminder of what has previously been on their bedding. The bedding needs replacing. As do the pillows. This place has so much potential. Needs soap for the bathroom sink - you shouldn’t need to grab the body wash out of the shower (as suggested from reception) to wash your hands after using the toilet. Hooks and more storage to place luggage on and hang towels and swimwear and bags etc. are needed, there’s nowhere to hang towels or a toilet bag in the bathroom. Tidy up the Loungers each morning like most resorts do. Our sink had a loose tap and leaked as well, and the bathroom tiles need a good scrub - the pink is bacteria. Quite far from any shopping, so really just a good place to chill on a beautiful beach. Hopefully management takes these reviews seriously, but I don’t think they will. Would be good if reception was helpful organizing ferry tickets etc too. We’ve had some lovely places we have stayed and the staff have all been so friendly and welcoming, so this stay was pretty disappointing.
