ONAYA Bali Resort - Adults Only

It felt like a private resort! We had the pool to ourselves, even though the hotel was full with guests it was really quiet and private. The pool area is lovely and the sun loungers are so comfy! The rooms are like little bungalows, the bathroom is huge in comparison to the room. All the staff were so lovely and really helpful! The breakfast was really tasty and a good variation of choice, just be mindful at times there was a little wait for breakfast however there is only two staff who work in the restaurant. I was very surprised how spread out uluwatu was, so you can’t walk anywhere from the hotel. There was never a problem getting a grab, and there is a shuttle car available from the hotel that you can prebook. The hotel is around a 20-25min drive away from a beach, distance wise not very long but drivers need to drive slow because the roads are very narrow, hilly and poor condition of road surface. But I would say the hotel is in quite a good location around 10-15min drive away from most restaurant etc.

I was aware from the reviews that the rooms are small but I didn’t appreciate how small they are in person. This was our third accommodation in Bali, and was at least half the size of any of our other accommodation and the bed is a lot smaller than any of the others we had in Bali. Another criticism is that the bed and pillows are a little uncomfortable. The bathroom could benefit from some larger floor mats, when wet the bathroom floor became very slippery and could become very hazardous. Also only one towel per person provided, I think a smaller towel should be provided too, however I know that if needed I could have messaged on the WhatsApp group.

Everything was amazing the staff were excellent couldn’t do enough for us they made are stay so special. Hotel was beautiful complementary car service was great. Breakfast was so nice. Definitely recommend this place would love to come back.

The main positive was the setting. The hotel is in a very quiet and peaceful environment, which makes it a good place to switch off and relax away from the busier areas. We also found the food to be very good, and this was definitely one of the stronger aspects of our stay.

Unfortunately, this was probably the least impressive hotel of our Bali trip. The overall experience did not meet our expectations. The hotel itself felt underwhelming compared with the other places we stayed in Bali, and there were several areas where we felt the overall standard and experience could have been better. The bed matrasses are very hard. Wifi was very weak and we also could not charge our phones and laptops because the power was not strong enough.
