Holiday Inn Alexandria at Carlyle by IHG

No amenities. No 30 minute early check in. Hotel was adequate.

On site parking, close to Metro, restaurants and shops. Clean and quiet

The room was very clean. We had an issue with the TV, but staff came up right away and fixed it. The area had lots of places to walk to for food and groceries. Breakfast was very good.

Great hotel to stay at if planning on using the metro to get into D.C. That is really the reason we stayed here this year. The hotel is old. You can tell the lobby is nicely updated but the rooms are a completely different story. We were on the top floor and there was a larger crack in our window. The room stunk terribly (like must/rotten egg). The shower needs some work. The beds were very comfortable though! We were out of soap upon arrival and when we went back downstairs to head to town for the evening the front desk attendant said she’d look to see if she can give us some. We told her we were not going back to the room and asked if they can just put it in our room while we are gone and she said sure….that night we came in to check to see if it was done and she said no, she just was going to wait for us to come back to do it…no big deal but rubbed me wrong. When traveling home we recognized we were changed 2 additional times (over $250 more than expected) so I called back. The guy who answered was very helpful and was able to figure everything out for us and assured we would be refunded by that Friday. Sure enough we were!
