Great hotel right on the beach. The lay out is a bit all over the place. Great location with much to do within walking.

Fun older property that has been updated. Right on the beach and close to dining and entertainment. We were impressed by the maintenance and cleaning staff, they worked hard to keep the entire property clean.

Staff was great, very speedy to address my question about window shade. I was beyond empressed with the staff,location and overall experience. They made my first time stay in san diego worth it!!!

I absolutely loved my stay. I will be booking again for my stay next month. The staff were so friendly and kind. Lual and Mike were both awesome at the front desk. My room was super comfortable. I rested so well. I had a partial ocean view room and the view was amazingly beautiful. You can walk the boardwalk and find all kinds of restaurants and shops. I am glad I read the reviews and gave them a try. They did not disappoint.

Love how close it is to the boardwalk and the beach.

Room was a bit small but the view made up for it! The oceanfront view was perfect. Loved watching the waves and people watching as the boardwalk was right there.

Great place to stay

The staff where nice, they upgrate my room for no charge. Cafeteria has expresso, i love that! We have nice wolk with incredible vew. I lot of restaurants around, even a Ralfs grocery store is on the walking distance. The only inconvenient think is that the woter in the shower was Not hot enough, i didn't shower on the day of my flight back home,because it was cold.

Place was a great location. The staff was amazing. The building is older but the beds were comfortable and everything was clean.

Wonderful location, wonderful room!

This was our first stay and we booked a room with a balcony beach view. We loved it. We had some minor issues with the room such as the blinds and curtains being very difficult to move. We also found an old sock and a lighter under our bed. In all fairness the sock was black but the lighter was right next to it. Other than these two minor issues, we had a great time. Our room was on the bottom floor and I was concerned that people walking would be right up on us. The property has a garden that separated the rooms from the public walkway by 6-8 feet so that worked great. The property has a door in the pool area where you can walk directly to the public walkway and access everything. This same door can allow you back in with a key card. Very nice amenity. Overall, we would be happy to return.

It was our second stay here and it did not disappoint! Quick and easy check in and check out process. Distance to the beach is literally in minutes walking. Sound isolation is great when you close the doors. Facilities very clean and make the most of the space. Also comes with a microwave, coffee maker (Keurig), and mini fridge. Will stay here again. Now, there is an issue with the south garage that should be fixed. The concrete is lifted/raised before you enter the declined entrance into the under building garage. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem for cars with extra clearance and if there wasn’t such a steep decline. However, for normal sedans and compacts with standard clearance, you will scratch your undercarriage and skid plate. In my case, it was a Tesla model 3 with stock suspension and height. On the way out, that raised concrete scraped the entire skid plate. I would strongly advise fixing this on Wayfarer’s end as this was something I was worried about on our second trip. Otherwise, great place and highly recommend it.

The customer service was great. The location was perfect. The property seems a bit old and rusty but I didn't mind that. Though some renovations would not hurt. My room was nice. The one thing I didn't like is the noise. I could hear people watching TV or talking in their rooms or using the toilet. The folks above me kept running and making loud noises even in the middle of the night (3am for instance). Kids running in the hallways... All of the noises made it difficult to have a good night of sleep and/or quiet moments. I brought this up to the front desk twice but nothing changed. It just got worse. So I gave up on that. But other than the noise issue, I had a good stay.

Overall great! A little worn, but hey it’s the beach. Only graded them down because bathroom door was loose fron hinge.

Had an amazing time at the Wayfarer, didn’t want to leave. Enjoyed relaxing on bakcony with ocean view. Room very clean and comfortable. Bed very comfortable. Cant wait to go back.

The hotel condition and facilities are fine, we didn't have problem with that. The staff and service need to be improved. The tissue in the bathroom was out for a few days and didn't get filled in. The worst part is that, we forgot to pack a brand new DJI OSMO Packet 3 my nephew bought specifically for our trip to San Diego and left it in the bed in the room (I was going to put it in my carry-on bag but forgot it because it is a small device). I am pretty sure it is in the hotel room is because I took a video for the sunset near the hotel, brought it back to the hotel room to download it to my phone, and we didn't go anywhere before we left for the airport next morning. We only noticed it was missing after we got back home. I called the hotel but they said they didn't see it. The device is an expensive one, $750 with all accessories. Fortunately only the Packet 3 was left in the room, which is still $519 tax. Is it acceptable these days that staff can keep what customers left in the room after they left?

The charges are not clear and they charge more than what was published in the expedia reservation.

This is an older hotel with access to the beach and a great pool deck. Our room was clean and basic with a partial view of the ocean and pool deck from our balcony. Not a bad place to crash, but pricey for condition. Parking was $30+ a night and the rooms were basic compared to the price point.
