Property still dealing with construction and cleanup from hurricane, but still very nice. Valet parking is only option and its expensive. Views from ocean view room were perfect. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The food at the restaurant was great. We really enjoyed our stay.

We knew prior to our booking that they were issues based on residual damage from the hurricane. 2 of those issues was infinite and television service. Also, the fact that the only one elevator was working in the building that we were staying at which caused issues as it had to have to be used by both the staff cleaning rooms and servicing the building and the guests

It is very expensive. There are so many additional fees on top of the actual price. The grounds are still not finished. The pool was not what I had expected for the price we paid I felt we were at a motel. Not happy at all.

I absolutely loved everything at this resort . It was perfect

Wonderful and attentive staff. Second to none beach location.

The rooms and showers are very old and dated

First of all, the staff was amazing! Very attentive and kind. The resort was very well maintained, even with the construction going on. (3 pools/fitness center/rooms)
The only negative thing I can comment on are the additional fees. They charge a valet parking fee of $39 per day with a clear sign stating that gratuity is not included. There are no other parking options so you're forced to pay. And the location really does require a car unless you plan on staying and eating at the resort which is costly. In addition, there is a $45 per day resort fee. So with that said, plan on adding another $100, per night, to your stay. I personally would've rather paid it upfront in my nightly rate, somehow it softens the blow at the end of your trip.

The beach location and views are priceless. The property is still under major construction after getting hit by a hurricane last season so much of the pool area is still not open thus it is not quite at full capacity yet.

Love LaPlaya and this is my third time visiting! I can’t wait to come back! Only thing they need to fix the elevators! One didn’t work and the other one was bumpy and seemed like us was going to break down. Otherwise the place is my favorite

Great view and location.
Did not like the ongoing construction noise and issues with elevator operation.

Most beautiful hotel right on the most beautiful, clean beach. Close to shopping and restaurants. Staff in all areas were amazing. Rooms were super clean!

My wife and I love the place. This is our 3rd year coming to LaPlaya. They did a great job on the property especially since the hurricane just hit. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. We will be back next year.

The property is still undergoing restoration following hurricane Ian so the Beach House had construction going on all day. Other than that the stay was wonderful. The food was incredible and the staff was amazing We will definitely be back once they are done w the restoration.

Between the construction and staff members who were unwilling to help, I will never go back. The rooms are in poor condition and things are falling apart. The service is very limited overall. The vallet is alway busy.

We UNSUCCESSFULLY tried to cancel with both the hotel and Expedia. Even though we never showed up I kept receiving texts regarding checkout times etc. If they don't even realize there is nobody there during 3 nights, they have bigger problems than their remodeling, which we only found out a couple of days before.

Check in was easy, 9/10 for cleanliness. Bathroom had done mold and silicone missing/ falling off shower door which kept it from opening.

Everything was good. Everyone was nice. However, the prices on food were a little outrageous in the restaurant.

Location was perfect. Top notch service, from valet to the front desk. Upgraded without asking. Checkout noon (most places 10-11) View is stunning. Food was great. Drinks were yummy. We will return

My family & I came last wknd, we originally wanted to stay an extra night but didn’t. We decided to come again this weekend to enjoy the beach. As my prev review the main bldg only has 1 elev & not all amenities are open. There’s still 1 pool avail & the bldg & surrounding areas are under construction. Valet, housekeeping & beach staff are top tier. Last wknd my husband forgot his raybans & P in housekeeping recognized him & gave them bk. She had saved them in her cleaning cart & happened to see him while heading to ckout. She deserve major recognition. There’s another gentleman who works there who everytime he’s seen us remembers us & greets us w/ such warmth, I forget his name but he’s a published children author & was gracious enough to give my daughter a copy. Now, on my 2nd day we woke up 2 head 2 the beach & the TV stand had ants. Took pics & video. When I went to the front desk to complain the man was so nonchalant & barely paid attention, he was focused on whatever was on the comp. He offered to send someone to spray pesticide in our room. We still had 1 more night at the hotel, who wants to stay in a fumigated room w/ kids?! Never offered to change us rooms & only offered us a room across the street once my husband mentioned it. We didnt have any1 spray the the room, left it how it was & cleaned ourselves. Were told that there were other rooms w/ ants. If you’re going to spend good money for a wknd stay on the beach, prepare for ants & to clean urself. Disappointing

This was our 2nd or 3rd time coming, originally we came via a recommendation from a friend who had stayed pre hurricane. Our 1st stay during May was actually very pleasant even tho there was much more going on in the back of the main building with construction & pavers, etc. The hotel is still VERY MUCH under construction. The main building is open but all the amenities are not, there’s still only one pool avail. The entire building only has 1 elevator & it’s a game of patience. The staff as in housekeeping, valet & beach staff all extremely pleasant. Front desk are ok, we wanted to add an add’l night to our stay & they insisted they had no rooms but then the gentleman offered me the 1 bdrm suite for nearly 1k a night. Again almost laughable considering I already feel I’m over paying to stay when the rooms are nothing to write home about. There’s no turndown service & the rooms are mediocre at best & not of the rooms in the main building have 2 queens beds so if it’s more than 2 someone’s getting a pullout couch. Maybe the new building once it’s open in 2024 will be another thing but definitely the only thing saving them is the convenience of the beach literally being in their backyard & foot steps away.

Pre hurricane Ian I’m sure this was a beautiful place. Amenities were very limited. Place still not finished fixing things. One pool out of 3 open. Restaurant not total open limited etc. Was very disappointed since we paid very good monies to go and didn’t have option to cancel and go at another time. The staff was awesome. Have stayed at other resort who had lots more to offer for less money.

It was still construction work due to hurricane damage

The amazing views from the balcony was the highlight of the stay.

No thank you. I already paid for my stay
At $800 per night (off season) no shower cap in room, no water bottles, $55 for a half bottle of house wine. No turn down service.

After the hurricane the hotel was not ready to open. I am sure it will be very nice once completely ready.

Unfortunately one of the worst experience, because of the hurricane I was limited to a lot of amenities. The pool was close, there were part of the hotel that were under construction it was noisy, very inconvenient and unsafe with working equipments everywhere.

Although, my experience with the hotel and staff was excellent I have one complaint. I was not informed that the hotel and many amenities were not available or fully functional until after I booked the mini- vacation through Expedia. With that said my wife and I had a great trip! Ty

Great experience. Staff was very attentive and friendly, hotel was very clean and comfortable. The beach was only a few steps away which was my favorite part. The only thing i would change is that there was no kid friendly activities and also the food menu was very limited maybe like 10 items on the menu at most. Small food portions and food was bland. I ordered a burger, steak and fish came out to $200 .Maybe for a couples getaway but not family trip.

Due the damages of Hurricane Ian the hotel is not in a good condition, it would be appropriate to let guests know way in advance what to expect before arrival. Even thou they are renovating, the rate is way too high for a hotel "under construction". The beach and service on the beach, amazing as always.

I have been at this hotel in the past but at this time I was very disappointed, I understand that the hotel suffered with the hurricane but it was almost one year ago and the hotel is a mess , elevators not working , pool areas not in good conditions, dirty corridors, the room was ok but the clean could be better , the staff at the restaurant was a joke , really bad service. At this time la playa is far from 5 star and doesn’t worth the rate.
