Staff is amazing! The bungalows are so cute and it’s all you need for a long stay or quick getaway. Just a walk from the bungalows to the restaurant-amazing food and drinks, right onto the beach. Quiet and peaceful at night. Great music and entertainment. Dogs are allowed and you can even visit with the bush dogs and cruzan cats that live there. Great snorkeling as well. One of our favorite places on the island!

It was nice and quiet. I love the individual bungalows.

The cottage was very good, however the toilet did not work! It also looked like the toilet water was standing for awhile, the bacteria stained inside the toilet circumference. The a/c was a little too loud. Overall it was a nice stay!

Great property best location. Right on water great stuff very relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy Kayaking snorkeling beach activities all included. Restaurant also has great food specials the wings. My family a party of 5 had 2 bungalows which overlooks the ocean. Definitely worth it and definitely we will be back.

Great location inChristiansted. Property is right on Cheney Bay with a pool. The facilities are a bit run down and could use an upgrade. However we would definitely go there again.

We stayed in 2013 and again 2023. Recently under new owner. Planning MASSIVE renovation. Bungaloos a little dated but sufficient. New restaurant with limited menu but great food. Delicious! Staff is friendly and accomodating. Very nice beach. If you want a quiet laid back time this is the place. Not the typical tourist vacation...more low key and laid back. It is my go to place to recharge my batteries.

Gorgeous location, friendly staff. Cottages need updating. TV never worked the entire week we were there. Beautiful views and beachfront can’t be beat. Would love to see updated bathrooms and quality mattresses but would still come back and stay.

One of the best views on island. Nice calm water and great place for water activities. I would strongly recommend this property. New owners are working hard to bring this property back to its former glory

The room is spacious and comfortable but the toilet is overflowing which makes staying very uncomfortable. Request wasn’t fast.

Jimmy and Stephanie just recently took this resort over and have done an incredible job. We throughly enjoyed our stay as parents to a 4 month old. The cottage was perfect location, great view and they had incredible food! They have big plans to remodel and uplevel the place and it was lovely to be part of their journey. The beach was fantastic and their bar was modern as well. Hands down a great value with above and beyond service from all the staff. We will be coming back!

That it was family owned and operated. The Thorpe family are an incredible team of hard workers. Also, Elizabeth who was so friendly and pleasant every day. Will definitely go back next year ! Chenay Bay Beach Resort, now Bungalows on the Bay exceeded our expectations for the perfect place to stay on the St. Croix. The bungalow we stayed in needed a few bathroom updates, but the new owners are working tirelessly to improve the property. Everyone at the resort was friendly and helpful. The food at the onsite restaurant, prepared by the chef, Herman, was superb. His coleslaw is amazing! The view from our bungalow and the restaurant were awesome and the walking from one end of the beach to the other was lovely. I am not one to want to return to the same place for vacation, but Bungalows on the Bay is one place I would love to return to again and again.

The owners were very personal and pleasing.

This was among the top two worst places I have ever stayed. The entry driveway was broken and needed repaving. There were multiple trash bins that were in need of emptying the entire duration of the stay. The doors did not shut fully at the rooms. There were bugs in the room. The bathroom was beyond tired, effectively uncleanable. The shower curtain fell multiple times. The window did not close. We left the property two days early to move to another and not only was there no Staff (literally no one to check out with, no Staff to get breakfast with, no Sundry shop, etc.) but there was no one to help call for transportation. Other guests just stood by the front desk waiting in disbelief. Breakfast was most certainly not included. Lunch and dinner menus were the same. Drinks were only in plastic cups. There was a storage trailer that housed food/beverages, which they ran out of. It was truthfully terrible. All watersport equipment was broken. The beach was covered (water too) with seaweed. The pool had trash in it and beside it. Expedia should never allow this type of facility to be rated!

The staff was very friendly and the food at breakfast was delicious but the room-particularly the bathroom was very run down and out of date. It did not appear very clean -- especially the shower and the shower did not have a shelf to put your soap or body wash. The towels were not very good quality and they were very dingy -- almost hard to tell if they were truly clean. The rooms need definite upgrades. I noticed there were some broken panes on the windows too. However the AC worked really well.

Shermayne and staff were very cordial and friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable. Felt safe while Fiona was passing by!

Very peaceful place to stay.

I love staying in the cottage right on the beach having that direct beach access. What I don't like is the hotel seems to be moving very slow on renovations. The restaurant is not fully operational but semi out of a food truck, the food/service is excellent but was expecting a full restaurant experience. Hope next time we visit we can have that full restaurant feel.

The property is great if you are used outdoor life. Eating onsite is very limited so you need a car or rely on taxis. NO ubers are available

There was nothing to enjoy about the property the reviews were all lies. The place had mold, bugs, very low water pressure, fixtures had major calcium/salt build it. Toilet had ring within the bold. I left the property the next day and went to another hotel. Due to arriving late. Management gave me a letter to request my funds. I am submitting my for my total refund today. So Expedia please refund me for not staying in that place.

The cabins we cozy, but could use new beds/frames. They were very noisy and unless you just didn’t move, you would wake everyone up in the room. Other than that, was a quiet and relaxing place. The “restaurant” by the beach was good and very nice/friendly owners! Beach was quiet and the view from our room was wonderful. We also had cats escort us to our room almost every day.

Not as advertised. While there were a few room repairs/updates, in general, very run down, needs many repairs/replacements. Cabinets, countertops & faucets need replacement. Mold in the shower. Old stained white towels. Walls need painting. No hairdryer, one was provided upon request. There is no restaurant, it burned down years ago and was not rebuilt. There is a food truck scheduled weekly for Thu-Sun 8AM to 2PM, very expensive and the food was marginal. The tennis court is not playable. The beach is very small and mostly grass or rough sand, shoes required. On the plus side the Staff was very nice and friendly in office.

Beautiful views being right on the Sea. Beach was few steps from our cottage. Also had a nice pool. Unfortunately there wasn’t any where on the resort for food or drinks. I booked it because the website stated it had a restaurant and a bar, and offered breakfast but when we arrived found that they no longer offered that which was disappointing. Still, it was a beautiful setting, just don’t think it was worth the cost with not offering any food or drinks. I feel I should have been refunded something since it didn’t really feel like a “resort” since we just had our cottage and water access.
