We loved this home, so clean and cozy! Our family of 5 enjoyed a day at the Grand Canyon and Bearizona Zoo Park! Our evenings were filled with fun at this home… loved the deck area, bbq, games they provided and so many stars in the evening!! Such a memorable family stay!! Thank you💕

This property was a modern oasis on a prairie style ranch. Every comfort you could possibly need. Every morning was beautiful, sitting on the porch with our coffee watching the sunrise and listening to the far off rooster crow. We were visited by a few wild rabbits, many different birds (including an active nest in the porch rafters), and multiple humming birds to the feeder. So peaceful and quiet and a feeling of privacy...knowing that town (and the GCNP) was just 20 minutes away. The hosts were very responsive to our every question/request and would refill the firepit wood daily. The only suggestion I would make to the hosts would be to invest in some blackout curtains in the bedrooms (windows face east and the sun rises early). We made do by taping black garbage bags over the windows...tacky but it did the trick ;) Would absolutely return to this property, it was so hard to leave.

Very nice property. Clean, modern appliances. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice firepit. Super close to the Grand Canyon. My fiancee and I really enjoyed our trip here.

We were looking for a unique spot close to Grand Canyon - wow did we get lucky! This wonderful home is tucked in, out of the way, private but accessible to the Canyon. I highly recommend staying here! Big sky, glorious setting and beautiful, well appointed and stocked home. Many extra touches and wonderful hosts. We’d love to come back and share this with our friends!

The Retreat was the perfect place to stay near the Grand Canyon! This new house was extremely clean and beautifully decorated, and we really appreciated all the thought the owners put into the amenities they provided. They left nothing out and we have never been so impressed with any other place we have stayed. Pat and Kristy, thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us!!!

Extremely clean and well decorated. Coffee, basic spices and cooking necessities provided were much appreciated. The fire pit had wood provided by the hosts and corn hole games that everyone had fun with. The location was about 25 minutes from Grand Canyon entrance which was very convenient. Check in was very easy and there were excellent instructions provided in a notebook that was left for us to review as well as some snacks and water that was a nice touch after a long drive. We will definitely be back the next time we visit the Grand Canyon! Thank you! Also should be noted that the dirt road is a bit rough and rocky so people with lower vehicles are aware.

This is the first time my husband and our two kids were able to visit the Grand Canyon area. Being a family who loves camping and nature, this brand new small home in the middle of a vast beautiful desert environment, with a breathtaking view are the mountains in the distance, was perfect for our family to wake up to and spend the evenings after an adventurous day. The owners took special care to think of everything we could possibly need. They checked on us and made sure to provide us anything our family needed during our stay. Our children had a great time shooting their bow and arrows, making s’more‘s in the fire pit at night, and looking at the planet Jupiter through a telescope among many other astronomical wonders. The owners provided our favorite household items so, we felt right at home. They have great taste and the brand new home was perfect and clean. They Grand Canyon was only 20 minutes away. We were able to visit Sedona and the Horse Shoe Canyon as well. My only complaint would be that I wanted to relax on the property longer instead of the sights I had planed. Thank you so much for a beautiful experience. I will return with more family as there is another unit not to far.😀

Let me first start with complementing Pat and Kristi for being amazing host. Everything outlined in the description of the property was not only highly anticipated, our expectations were easily surpassed. Pat provided consistent communication when needed and even stopped by during one of the days to refill our firewood surplus further showing their focus on being great hosts to my family. If you’re looking for solitude mixed with modern amenities when needed, look no further. While the canyon provides amazing outdoors, hiking, breathtaking views, and more to offer than anyone can accomplish in a weekend, there’s a little solitude knowing the end of each day you’re coming back to this gateway to Grand Canyon property. (Let’s you push a little longer on that hike knowing you have a fantastic bed and property to return to). A little tip, make sure before building your first fire on this amazing property that you take some time to admire the night sky. If you’re not used to a blanket of stats in the sky, this will be as close to heaven as you can get. The moon stayed tucked away until after 11pm giving us hours of star gazing before closing out the night around the fire pit sharing stories and pictures from the day spent exploring and site seeing (and maybe some s’mores but don’t tell my diet). I think the most important characteristic of a great stay is your eagerness on being able to return to the same property. While I know this region has many areas you can stay, look no further as this is our go to spot for every trip in the future. Leaving you 20 minutes from the south rim, and centrally located in between the east and west rim, there really is no better spot to take in a weekend, week, or even longer at The Retreat! Really enjoyed our stay, very comfortable and beautiful views and great location close to the Grand Canyon! Host answered questions quickly and very nice! We will definitely be back for another stay!
