Logis Hotel Demeure de la Vignole et Spa

Lots of character, set into the hillside. The pool is attractive in the cave and there is a pretty garden/ terrace to sit in. Friendly welcome.

It has quirky charm and super friendly staff.

We were only there for one night as we driving through France enroute to Spain. Wish we had booked at least 2 nights.

A truly unique setting: location, architecture, room decor, atmosphere... Mysterious and romantic, it will surely stand out in our memories. Excellent wine and snacks offer for the weary traveler.

We had the cave suite, it's a great, quirky space, with a bathroom and dressing room on the ground floor and the bedroom and balcony above (28 steps on a spiral staircase) Access to the pool 24 hours a day was great as it meant we could have a dip after a days site seeing. It was surprisingly warm given it had no direct sunlight.

We didn't mind the cobwebs and spiders, we are in a cave after all, but the bathroom was particularly grubby, black mould around the bath and over the hairdryer. Our room was not serviced.. at all.. despite it saying so in the listing. We were given 2 coffee pods on arrival, no water and 11/2 loo rolls. I went to ask for more coffee and loo rolls on the second day, gave them my room no etc, but housekeeping still didn't appear. By the third we just bought our own as it felt a bit demeaning asking for toilet roll at a hotel each day. We ended up airing out our own towels on the balcony as they were not being changed as they would not dry in the damp bathroom. With hindsight I should have complained more at the time.
