JR East Hotel Mets Premier Gotanda

The hotel is just right next to Gotanda JR station and the entrance is directly connected to the JR station or Asakusa line, very convenient and both lines are assessible to most major tourist attractions in Tokyo. We strategically selected this hotel because there was a typhoon in Tokyo and no umbrella was required even on rainy days if you travelled between Gotanda and other shopping malls/attractions connected to other JR stations (eg. Gotanda to/from Tokyo, Shinagawa, Takanawa station), plenty of entertainment and dining options to do on rainy days! Lots of restaurants, cafes, yakitori, yakiniku, bars, supermarkets, convenient stores, eateries in the surrounding areas. The hotel reception is on the 3rd floor within Atre Gotanda 2, you can find Uniqlo (2/F) and supermarkets (G/F) in the same building. There's a walkover bridge (not covered) connected to Tokyu Stay Gotanda, another shopping mall with plenty of shops, eg. Muji, supermarket, etc. Hotel facilities were properly maintained and cleaned. Bed was comfy with different pillow options available. There was a massager on chair available which was very handy especially walking after a whole day and you could relax on the chair. We like the Dyson hairdryer and the proper Japanese bathroom with shower and bathtub facilities. Plenty of amenities for your selection at reception lobby. Our room was not facing the train tracks and it was very quiet with an open view, and it was also on the floor with a laundry room close by! Room size was definitely sufficient for a couple to fit in with 3 large and 1 small luggage. It was our first time staying at this hotel and we would likely to return in our next trip to Tokyo.

Die Lage war direkt an der Bahnstation Gotanda. Das Frühstück hatte keine große Auswahl, war aber sehr gut.

Das Zimmer für 2 Personen war dermaßen klein, mit 2 großen Koffern war das Zimmer eine Zumutung. Das Doppelbett war für 2 Personen viel zu klein. Wir haben bei unserer Japan Rundreise in sieben anderen Hotels genächtigt, aber dieses Zimmer war eindeutig das kleinste, obwohl uns bewusst war, dass die Hotelzimmer in Japan nicht groß sind, waren wir enttäuscht. Wären wir länger als 2 Nächte geblieben, hätten wir wohl für ein größeres Zimmer aufzahlen müssen. Check in und Check out muss man eigenhändig am Computer erledigen. Es kommt keine Hilfe mehr vom Personal an der Rezeption. Als ich um Hilfe ersucht habe, um ein Taxi zu rufen, wurde gesagt, das tun sie nicht. Außerdem sind die Englisch Kenntnisse des gesamten Personals, auch im Restaurant, sehr mühsam bis kaum vorhanden.
