Villa Elena

Super comfortable stay! Elena was a very friendly and welcoming host who also gave us great recommendations for food and hikes around the area. Highly recommend!

The entrance to the property is slightly on the narrow side but no major issues :)

The room was lovely, spacious, lots of light/windows, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. A short walk to the heart of town, nice garden sitting area.

Communication regarding check in was lacking. We arrived, needed to call the owner, from a number taped on the door. She arrived promptly, and hurriedly ran through all the house information, without much space to ask questions. It felt a bit like one was an intrusive house guest, rather than a comfortable small inn. A small quibble: no water was provided in the room, and one was charged for coffee and tea. It is understandable to charge for alcohol and/or soft drinks from an "honor" bar, but everywhere else I have been always provides coffee and tea (and at least a preliminary water bottle) without charge. Also, the soap and shampoo provided were in big bottles, like a left over product found in some AirBnBs, rather than "fresh" products.

Elena is a superb host. Such a lovely lady and always willing to help. A great location with just a 5-10 minute walk into town. Private parking on site (which is at a premium in Potes). The house was cool even though it was very warm outside. Lots of outside seating in a quiet spot at the rear of the house. Very good shower. A small honesty bar with wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks. Potes is a great base for the Picos de Europa and Fuente De is a must visit, with stunning scenery, but book your ticket in advance inline or you could have a two hour wait.

A really minor point, but very small tables and bedside cabinets in the bedroom, but that is being very picky, becuase everything else was so good!!

Very friendly and helpful host. Comfortable and quite stay. The property is 5 minutes walk from the local Supermarket and 10 minutes from Potes town centre. Off road parking. Ideal location to explore the Picos. Excellent and varied breakfast.
