Macedon Ranges Hotel & Spa! 🌟 This 4-star hotel is absolutely amazing. The rooms come with a spa hot tub and offer breathtaking views of the mountains and pine forest. 🌲🏞️
The building might not look impressive at first, but once you step into the room, it's like entering paradise with the breathtaking view. It's amazing how the experience can change once you're inside. It's truly a hidden gem!
The place is super clean and tidy, and they even have a natural bathroom, seating area, and mini bar. 🛀🍹 It's the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway! The only downside is that the restaurant is currently closed, but they've got you covered with a welcome note that lists nearby restaurants just 5-10 minutes away. 🍽️🚗 I hope they reopen the restaurant soon so you can enjoy the view while dining.
When it comes to the day spa services, it's important to note that booking in advance is necessary to secure your spot.
Also, while there isn't a microwave available, they do provide a hot kettle, toaster, iron, and a wardrobe with hangers. Plus, you'll find tea, snacks, and milk in the room, as well as some beer and other goodies in the mini bar. And here's the best part: you're allowed to bring your own food to enjoy in the room! So don't forget to bring your favorite treats, and definitely indulge in a hot red wine for a truly relaxing experience.
It's great to know that the room also comes with a TV, although we didn't get a chance to try it out. And it's a bummer that the air conditioning wasn't working properly.
Our booking was for a couple and i was a Deluxe Starlight Room in upstairs and great value for money!
You can see the pictures i have attached to get a great idea!

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the stunning view from our room. Gazing out over the landscape was a memorable experience that added a touch of tranquility to our time at the hotel.
Moreover, upon arrival, we found the room to be reasonably clean, which set a positive tone for our stay. It's always reassuring to enter a well-maintained space, especially when embarking on a getaway. Additionally, the thoughtful gesture of having the faux fireplace lit upon our arrival was a delightful touch, particularly as the temperature began to drop in the mountainous surroundings. It instantly created a cozy atmosphere that welcomed us warmly after our journey. Such attention to detail did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated, enhancing our overall impression of the accommodation.
Our recent stay at the hotel presented some challenges that we feel are important to share. The beds were notably firm, which may not suit everyone's preference for sleeping comfort. Additionally, we encountered noise disruptions from other guests, particularly during early morning and late evening hours.
While the listing advertised "free Wi-Fi," the actual service provided was limited and the connection proved to be unstable, impacting our ability to fully utilize it during our stay. Furthermore, the area's poor reception necessitated a drive to access telehealth services, which may be an inconvenience for guests relying on consistent connectivity.
Despite raising these issues with the reception staff, including our decision to cut our anniversary stay short due to discomfort, we did not receive follow-up communication from management as expected.
In sharing these experiences, we hope to provide valuable insights for potential guests considering a stay at this establishment.

The view and spa bath great
Thin walls not really private, quite narrow rooms but long. The overall feel is outdated and the tap water you can’t drink, kind of like desalinated water but they do offer free bottled water. Bar menu a bit steep. Restaurant is closed long term so you have to drive 10 mins for food.

The room was large and spacious. Very clean. Great bathrooms.
It needed a price list for the mini-bar.

The rooms are huge. Our room was very clean and the spa was a great size. I love the use of rain water for the baths.
The cost of the room feels slightly overpriced for the facilities. The spa did take a long while to fill as the water pressure isn't great.

Nice view , big bed , spas are nice . Decent size rooms .
Would be better if it had balconies .
you could hear spas going each time someone upstairs started it up because plumbing is under the spas .
The furniture was really worn seats had the vinyl coming off the top , and table top was manky looking worn - expected a bit more
Room felt unloved .

It was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room size was excellent and very comfortable.
The fact that a restaurant was advertised which was not open and had not been for a long time. It is not possible to walk anywhere for food, a car is a must.

Stunning views, easy access, wonderful spa bath, lots of space and friendly service. The breakfast hamper was ok.
It's dated and would benefit from better connectivity. The rooms need updating and if that's not possible at least grouting in the bathroom as it feels dirty even though it's not.
The outside windows need cleaning.

We drove from Sydney over 10 hours. We checked the day before and the hotel informed that they would be sending a text with room numbers and the key code. We had booked 3 rooms. No text was received. The emergency number on the reception was not answered. We tried for over 2 hours. At 9 pm they got in touch said the phone was on low volume!! The Emergency phone!! When inquiring about the text they said they had sent to the wrong number!! They offered a 50% discount on the room rate as compensation for the stress and anxiety caused. We have not received anything yet. Bookings.com has been informed of this bad service.

Not much.
Purchased an overnight stay here for my cousin as a gift and as such, wanted to pre-pay. On phoning the hotel an incredibly unhelpful receptionist 1) could not find booking, 2) told me I had booked under another name for another date, 3) told me I could not prepay. Feeling nervous I went in personally the following day to find the same problems, which were finally rectified. When my cousin tried to check in (5pm Boxing Day) he found the reception closed with no access to a room. Another guest he met in the car park, told him he should have been sent a code for entry which never arrived. Upon complaining the following day, the sales manager confirmed to me that this procedure had not been performed correctly. The whole incident was unprofessional on so many levels and embarrassing for both myself and my cousin. As a regular booking.com client, who travels all over the world, I have never experienced such a disaster... the irony was that this happened literally around the corner from where I live.

The views, the layout of the room, the details and having the room diffuser and fire on for when we arrived . Just gorgeous
The swimming pool didn’t have a working changing room.

The view from the room (and it's spa bath) was fabulous. The large spa bath worked well, filled with rain water, the hot water was plentiful and altogether a real treat. Very spacious room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed with nice linen. Lots of towels and a bathrobe provided. Everything was clean. The little kitchen area was practical with all the basics provided and there was a well-stocked fridge and snacks provided to purchase if required. The staff were friendly.
The noise from the nearby main road is the main thing that detracts from the otherwise great location. It drowned out the birdsong and the peacefulness of the country setting, and kept going all night. The room's windows really needed a clean to fully appreciate the view... it was a shame the cobwebs, bird poo and dust detracted from this. There were several large stains in the carpet that were rather off-putting. The shower unit was a bit tired-looking and could do with refurbishment. The heating unit of the hotel's small indoor pool wasn't working when I was there, so I was warned the water would be cold and cancelled my planned swim, which was disappointing. I think the management struggle to maintain the very extensive landscaped grounds, which are bristling with weeds and blackberries. A native planting scheme may have better suited the site. Someone was valiantly trimming the miles of hedges when I was there!

Big broken tile on spa…
Room not serviced daily.. tea coffee not topped up

Nice area
Quite tired.
Didn’t get the room pictured when booking.
Restaurant was closed so had to drive to get all meals
Despite trying to book the day spa 3 weeks in advance, a group booking had taken all the weekend appointments.
Pool closed at midday on Sunday.
Other rooms using the indoor spas were very noisy.

The spa in the room, so convenient and relaxing.
Just a general comment/observation., the instructions said that the spa could be used after 8am, but the sign in the room had a slightly different time on weekends.. it might be helpful to make sure the message is consistent with the sign and the printed out instructions that are given to guests to avoid confusion.

Very spacious!! Huge room
The bed was extremely soft but still had a nice sleep.
The shower head was hanging when we got there. The slot it locks into was broken. Not much to dislike, just need a bit of a refresh but otherwise great spot and location. The stairs to the room had algae and were slipper. Maybe a quick pressure hose would be useful in these wet conditions.

The room was spacious and clean. Complimentary bottled water were provided. The view was beautiful.
A trivia issue: it would be good if they have a separate switch for the exhaust fan in the bathroom … every time you turn on the light, the fan is on the same time and it is very noisy especially going to toilet at night .. may be a night light in the bathroom?

The room was fabulous with the spa bath in the window so you could look at the amazing view
The pool heater was broken so the water was freezing, but we were advised about this and still enjoyed the hot tub.
The restaurant was also closed for refurbishments I think.

Lovely setting with beautiful views
The water from the shower went out over the bathroom floor.
The window above the bed must leak as there was damage to the plaster.
Soundproofing between rooms is very poor

Great views. Very clean. Good price. Private.
The hot tub in the room is in an awesome position overlooking the rolling hills and very private. However the hot water isn’t hot and the hot tub was more of a lukewarm tub. I had to boil the kettle 10 times and pour it in to get it hot.

Likes the Spa, the view, the fire.
I would have liked a sink in the kitchenette area.

The room + bathroom were spacious and airy, check-in & out process was easy and efficient (if impersonal).
Spa bath in the room was lovely. Bed was comfortable.
Decidedly average. Don't stay here if you're looking for anything special. We paid for the best room in the place, yet it had the vibe of a roadside motel. I had pretty low expectations given other reviews online, and the reviews were right. The blinds they have installed don't cover the windows properly so sun streamed in at sunrise. The couch and TV are old and small. The restaurant has closed down, the whole place just feels tired and dated. It was fine, no major issues and we had a good sleep, but the room was not appealing or inviting to hang out in, so I was happy to check-out.

Our corner room was large and airy with a pleasant view of the Macedon ranges. The ensuite was also spacious. There was also a large spa surrounded on two sides by windows and open to the rest of the room. The site itself is large with heated pool, spa, and an on-site masseuse.
The big disappointment was that the restaurant was closed, but we were told that it would reopen soon. The room is pricey if you are just stopping overnight, as we were, and didn't use the available facilities.

Spa with a view - amazing - great finish after a hard day.
Room was nice and clean and Moccona coffee much appreicated.
When I arrived it looked like a boring ordinary hotel - was pleasantly surprised after entering.
There is nothing within walking distance and no food available at the hotel.
