Medina Hotel Samarkand

Rooms were well sized and clean. Shower in bathroom was very big. Breakfast selection was amazing and very good quality but the only bad thing is staff are militant on not letting you take food from the dining room - I saw a couple had to hand over a apple and a pear which I think is a bit excessive Pool area was small but clean. The water felt too cold to jump in even though it was >30 degrees Celsius outside. Location was really good - we could walk to both Registan and Shah-I-Zinda though it was a fairly long walk but we didn't want to miss out on the sights on the way. The central bazaar is walkable also. There is also a proper secured ATM nearby.

Check in took longer than it should and reception staff didn't seem very organised.

We booked an big room but the room was having a lot of problems with the bathroom water systems When we complained we were offered a lower rate room without any refund of the additional amount we payed at least and the staff top us that they don’t have any other option

We liked the service at the reception and in the maintenance of the room. Both were very good.

The breakfast was limited with the manager only providing items when requested. He had then in stock but never replenished then unless asked. In a bigger that is not the right thing to do. As these came late almost after we finished our breakfast, like yoghurt packs,we wanted to take it to our rooms to eat later. But the manager was very rude and told us that we could not do it
