We stayed here the first two nights of our month-long UK adventure and loved it so much we went out of our way to return for our last two nights. The hotel has a unique and colourful vibe, the staff are great and very accommodating, the rooms are lovely and the beds super comfortable.
Breakfast is great, dinner was very good, but we found the Kings Arms pub across the green was a better choice for dinner.

Wow!! What a fabulous hotel. The Burgoyne certainly has a certain style, so different from the grey Yorkshire stone of the area. The staff were outstanding (thank you Christine, Peter, and the lovely lady from Southend). Our room/studio was beautifully appointed, with a stylish touch. The bed is high and wide and so comfortable. My wife would say that I have not been effusive enough in my praise. It is worth booking into the Brasserie - my steak was one of the best I have been given.
My wife would say that we could have stayed longer!

Location on the village green, good view from the front. Breakfast was good. Colourful but garish decor throughout (see negatives). Nice lounge. Good seating area outside.
We booked this hotel for the food, unfortunately dinner was unavailable as they'd had to dismiss the head chef for something serious (not told what). Booked a twin room but given a double. Had to wait whilst they remade the beds. No drying facilities (coast to coasters beware). Microscopic basin, barely big enough to fit your hands in. The fancy kettle wouldn't even fit in it properly - water poured out of the 'designer' spout all over the floor as you manoeuvred it out. Garish but colourful decor throughout (see positives).
