My family travels often and we are very selective on where we stay and mostly very satisfied with our choices. Unfortunately our stay at Christine's home was very disturbing. On the first night my wife and I heard some chewing/scratching noises in our bedroom. My daughter, who had slept in another room, was woken in the middle of the night to a sharp pinch on her finger and saw something scurry across the room. We were in the area to attend a wedding that day otherwise, we would have vacated the property that day. We reported the rodent bite and the chewing/scratching noises to Christine and she responded with " just had a company come out to do pest control (as I recently purchased the place). We haven't had any issue....there may be traps in the laundry room." On the second night we were awake most of the night listening to more scratching and chewing noises. Realizing that the noises were not in the walls, we were concerned that the rodents would be crawling on our bed. At one point in the middle of the night I was able to video record a mouse scurrying across the floor. I sent the video/photos to VRBO and the owner. I requested a refund, through VRBO, from the owner for the horrible experience that my family endured. The issue was escalated to health and safety at VRBO. To add to our disappointment with our stay, Christine has ignored all communications (text messages, emails, and voice messages) from myself and VRBO regarding our concerns for the past 20 days.

This property is perfectly located on a secluded lot that is so big you will not want to leave. It is also close enough to the main part of town and to Dons supermarket that you will not have to travel far to explore the area. The owner was very accommodating and flexible and we will be returning in the future as guests again.

The space was really nice lots of tranquil views. The amenities were great, the master bedroom is spacious. We booked with 2 things we needed in a rental: dog friendly and a sauna. The dog friendly aspect was great, but the sauna wasn't operational, which was a bummer. But overall, it was a solid spot to hold our retreat.

Had a wonderful stay in Christine's amazing property in Julian! Communication with Christine was easy and straightforward and we loved staying in the huge "barn" house and estate! The great room is truly one-of-a-kind and the large home easily accommodated our 6-person group and dog! The property is also just minutes from the center of downtown Julian, so it was super easy to pop into town for Julian pies, BBQ at Julian Beer Co., and gas and groceries! Would highly recommend!

This place was exactly how it was listed and Christine was very good at communicating! Property is HUGE which allowed our Husky to get out and run! Beds are comfortable, and all other rooms were great! My two young kids loved to explore the nature that surrounds the property and they have a few board games to play as well! Would definitely come back again! Thanks Christine!

We had a wonderful time here. So many great features around the barn. Was the perfect city escape. Wonderful outside space for roaming around with the kids. 5mins from downtown Julien.
