Superb location, cleanliness and privacy, no need to interact with no-one which means a good feeling of safety inside the studio and around the house. The studio has everything a couple needs for a pleasant stay, kitchen, AC, smart TV so it's possible to sign in to your Netflix account in case you want a movie night, extremely nice garden and pool with spaces to enjoy the weather or a drink. Carvoeiro downtown is just 5min walk and has a lovely beach and plenty of dinner options. Also is a good start point if you want to explore the Algarve. Terry and Vanessa where there to assist us in any matter and we will love to come back some day.

Friendly hosts. The garden studio was the perfect place to stay . Great facilities , the gardens were beautiful and the area by the pool was so quiet . We had the most fabulous stay and will be back next year hopefully. Thanks once again to Vanessa @Terry .

A small yet beautiful ground floor self catering apartment with a terrace shaded by a huge tree, gorgeous gardens to wander around with a lovely pool to use whenever we wanted, our hosts Vanessa and Terry couldn’t have been more helpful (informative yet never intrusive.) Being our first self catering experience this was a welcome break indeed, the villa and 2 other apartments are set back up a hill away from tourist life so you end up with a tranquil setting just minutes away from a vibrant, friendly Carvoeiro town. Our stay was a unique way to experience the Algarve ..and one I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

The owner could not do enough for us. Very easy to contact with quick responses to queries. Such a peaceful setting with lovely outside eating space, gardens and pool. Can highly recommend.

Beautiful gardens, fish ponds, swimming pool and relaxation room. We stayed at the end of March and the weather was a little cool to appreciate the alfresco life style that the property offers. Vanessa and Terry were very friendly and the location is ideal for access to the local beaches and cliff walks.

We had a lovely relaxing time at this superb rental. Amazing water gardens and lovely private pool. The owners Vanessa and Terry are great gas and make the best company when having a casual chat in the Garden Pod. A lovely chill out zone. These owners are anxious to please so a stay here is highly recommended. Try for the much coveted garden terrace room which offers spectacular views, sea and setting sun etc,

We had the garden studio which was perfect for my husband and I. There was everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday and the studio itself was immaculately presented. And the beds were so comfortable! We ate outside on the lovely terrace, shaded by a gnarled carob tree. The terrace was beautifully planted and had its own BBQ. And as for the gardens - stunning! It is a haven of peace and tranquillity and we spent long afternoons enjoying the quiet around the pool. Our hosts Vanessa and Terry were so welcoming and even took us to the out of town supermarket so that we could stock up with supplies! Such lovely people. We rarely go back to the same place twice, but I think we've found the ultimate relaxing getaway here!

We have stayed numerous times in Carvoiero and always stayed in different apartments or hotels, I think next time I will be rebooking this lovely studio apartment. It was clean, well kept and very comfortable. The gardens are beautiful and a pleasure to walk round. Vanessa and Terry were a fountain of knowledge when asked about where to eat and the best deals available. They gave us space to enjoy our holiday but were there when needed. The location is ideal, close enough to walk into the village to the local bars and restaurants, in fact it has the best location of anywhere we have stayed before. the apartment was very clean and everything was available for two persons. The bed was very good. We could use the garden for our breakfast. From this apartment you have no view but a nice small area. The apartment was 1 km walk to the village and beach. Carvoeiro is great! The apartment is not very big, there is no bench in the room, only the bed and one chair. In summer that will be no problem because you live outside, now in april it was a bit small. Vanessa was very helpful and friendly. Her homemade chocolate cake was very tasty!

Upon arrival at the Casa, we were warmly welcomed by Vanessa and Terry with tea and shortbread on the patio. We were immediately treated to a guided tour of not only the studio apartment, beautiful grounds and gardens but also taken on a mini tour of Carvoeiro by Terry. This was great and really helped us get our bearings! Over the coming days Vanessa and Terry provided some great advice on places to visit (even in not so great weather, as we initially had a few rainy days!) and recommended some amazing and reasonably priced restaurants which we would never have found without their help. There was privacy when we wanted it but always someone around for advice if we required it, including on the occasion when we popped round to borrow a cool box. The studio apartment is separated from the main building by a small arch across the driveway and some overhanging trees, providing dappled sunlight over the private terrace, perfect for breakfast or chilling and reading a book when it became too hot around the pool. The facilities at the studio were great, everything we required was provided. Vanessa even offered us the use of her washing machine, which certainly cut down on the amount of holiday washing upon arrival home! The Casa das Primas is perfectly situated, just far enough out of town to be extremely peaceful - apart from the twittering birds and occasional frog chorus from the well-tended garden and ponds :) However town was only a short walk away, where there are a great range of bars and restaurants to suite all tastes and pockets. I would highly recommend Elle and Ella (on the out road) for a special occasion but booking in advance is required as it is very popular! Although it is not essential, I would also recommend hiring a car to make full use of the little beaches and coves around the area, as the main municipal beach in town can get busy, and it certainly came in handy when tackling the steep incline from town to the apartment up what is commonly referred to as cardiac hill! Overall we had a fantastic relaxing stay and look forward to returning in the not too distant future!

We arrived around 6pm and were given a tour of this beautiful house and grounds and then treated to tea and home-made biscuits on the porch - what a lovely start to a superb holiday. The garden apartment was everything I hoped it would be. It was quiet, surrounded by mature trees which provided much needed shade at the hottest part of the day. We spent just a couple of hours each day by the pool which was fantastic as, if like me you are not too confident in the water, then to have the pool shared between the two apartments is great. The gardens are beautiful and the fish ponds are quite mezmorising with beautiful flowers and frogs in abundance. Charles spends much of the day in the garden tidying things up and it really shows. Vanessa and Terry were very welcoming and made you feel quite at home. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Casa das Primas and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family, and hope to visit again soon in the not too distant future.

We have just spent a week in the Garden studio and enjoyed every minute of it. The description was completely accurate and we were not disappointed when we arrived. The apartment was ideal for our stay, it had all the modern facilities we needed and everywhere was so clean. The area Casa das Primas is in is peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed beautiful garden, afternoon swimming in the pool and barbecues. Vanessa, Terry and Charles are amazing people, so friendly and kind, helping us out with any questions we had, pointing us in the direction to all the nearest amenities and also places and beaches worth seeing, checking everything was fine with our stay. We loved the Algarve and we loved staying here and we would highly recommend this apartment. Thank you for a lovely stay! Ps.Vanessa, your cakes were delicious!

We spent a week in the garden studio over Easter 2010. Vanessa and Terry were very welcoming and helpful. The apartment had absolutely everything we needed (and more!) and the garden and pool were beautiful. Vanessa and Terry did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing, we could not thank them enough. The photos do not do the garden justice, it is stunning. We could not fault the whole holiday at all and would definitely go back. It was just a shame that the volcano didn't start erupting a week earlier and we may not have come back! Chris and Lara.

Our autumn break at Casa de Primas was excellent. Vanessa and Terry could not have been more welcoming and their recommendations, for trips and dining, were spot on. Charles is an inspiration to all gardeners, and travellers, and you should take the time to listen to his advice and tales. We swam on 2 days out of 4 and had the pool to ourselves. The courtyard, exclusively for the garden apartment, is ideal for breakfast and pre dinner drinks. The property is a 5 min walk (maybe 10 on way back!) from the restaurants and bars, but only 1min from the local store which has fresh bread etc for breakfast. It is also open 7 days per week so no need to rush to the supermarket! We cannot fault our accommodation, but the hosts made it even more special. This is a fantastic part of Portugal, and a superb place for a couple to stay. We will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days in the studio at Casa das Primas.The property is in a quiet area yet only a short walk from the centre of Carvoeira and some excellent restaurants.while there we felt that our privacy was respected ,but when advice was needed Vanessa was nearby to help.When the bathroom light bulb failed it was replaced immediately.The property was clean and we were not troubled by ants.The gardens are a delight and a pleasure to wander around or just to sit in and enjoy the sunshine.We also made use of the excellent gym.We would not hesitate to recommend this property to any of our friends and would love to stay there again Carys and Steve.

We wanted a comfortable,clean base for exploring the area and the Garden Apartment fitted the bill perfectly with the added pleasure of being able to use the delightful gardens,pool and gym if we wanted a day off. It was a bonus that our kind hosts gave us good advice on the area as well as being helpful and ready to assist us in our plans. I would gladly recommend the property to anyone wanting to go out and about to discover more than just the tourist Algarve - though you can do that too!

We have just returned from our second stay in the garden studio (we have also previously had the pleasure of staying in the penthouse studio). I have just read the review by the Canadian visitor and I could not believe that we had stayed in the same place! The studio is enchanting - very well equipped and well furnished. The gardens are really beautiful and although I did not venture into the swimming pool (the weather was warm but not that warm) it was nice to be able to sit in the garden enjoying the peace and quiet. Vanessa is a perfect hostess and could not do enough for us - if being helpful and ensuring that we had everything we needed makes her a 'busy body' then the holiday industry could do with more people like her. The studio is in an ideal position - not in the centre of the town but near enough to stroll there to sample the wonderful restaurants in the evening (only about 10 minutes walk away). As expected we had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. Many thanks to Vanessa, Terry and Charles for making us so welcome - we are already planning our next visit.

I have just read the review posted by the Canadian coouple and feel that I should let people know the experience that my husband and I had at Charles' and Vanessa's excellent apartments. Vanessa treated us like family and nothing was too much trouble, we too had an episode with Portugese wild life but come on - The temperature was in the 80's and what country doesn't have bugs!! We had a fantastic time and would thoroughly recommend these apartments to anyone they are tranquil, well positioned and above all exceptionally clean. We would go back tomorrow if work comitments allowed. Thank you again Vanessa! and apologies for not writing this review sooner. Val and Jack

My daughter and I had walked a chunk of the Camino de Santiago de Compestela just prior to our arrival at this "tranquil garden" location and required real R&R in addition to some intimate time with which to process our spiritual experience. We were awakened by ants in our beds in the middle of the first night - my bed in particular, which was but up against the access point for the air conditioning unit for the suite and ultimately the access point for the ants. The garage was full of rotting beans in bags awaiting disposal and stank and the studio was attached to this very garage. It ought to be no surprise that the ants sought out the stench. We reported the ant problem immediately in the morning and vacated the suite to allow the owner to clean it, which she did, to her credit, without hesitation. Prior to our departure that day she spread ant powder along the trail of the ants and around the unit generally and this was effective, for the most part. There were far fewer ants the next night however, sleep was not to be had in this suite. I'm certain that the Algarve has its fair share of ants and other insects and the changeable weather is to blame for some of it, however, I was scolded the following day by the managing daughter that she had only found ONE ant. Surely, having walked the Camino de Santiago just days prior, and lived in the middle east for a decade, my daughter and I were not faint of heart. While I found the owner of this property, Charles, to be a true gentleman, his daughter who manages the property, lacks people skills in an extraordinary way. She is a busy-body and feigned interest in others while her true focus was her self-importance and making money. I vacated the property a week early without so much as a word to the daughter as my daughter and I experienced both her shrieking at her husband and minimizing of our ant experience in our short stay. I did not feel safe to further voice my discomfort/ needs. I departed choosing to return to the tranquility of the Camino. The tranquil grounds are immaculately kept by Charles. Vanessa needs to do some personal development work and gain some interpersonal skills. This "tranquil get away" is in the midst of a busy tourist attraction and the renter ought to be prepared for this. I would like to request my money back, feeling that I would not have chosen a get-away into someone else's personal drama. I rented it on-line and paid for it in advance. Buyer beware.
